I'm sure they are much faster (and safer) than the original vintage machines that they are imitating. Still a steep price for a 250 single.

Temp dipped into the 30s in the Houston area with winds gusting to 30 knots. I saw no two wheeled traffic all day.

I share your fondness for standard bikes from the 70s. I wish Kawasaki could make emissions legal two stroke triples again. I don't want my motorcycle to have "Star Wars" body panels.

Ironically, until a few years ago, to get a new Vespa in Houston you had to order it from the local Ferrari dealer. He handled all the vehicular imports from Italy.

The stock pipe is very heavy (relatively) and costs about as much as some after market pipes.
I would still go aftermarket unless you don't want to rejet the carb.

I shouldn't have picked on Cat Stevens about writing "Peace Train" when you consider the period in which is was written.
We had been out of Vietnam only a few years and the Iranian hostage situation hadn't happened yet. The Iranian hostage situation certainly eliminated most of the isolationist sentiment.
