"I'm loving how a generation is being blamed for Harley's sales slipping." Funny. That is like blaming baby boomers for the decline of the big 3 Detroit auto makers in the 70s and eighties, W650. -I thought the Street 750 was a step in the right direction for Harley and the Street 500 was a definite improvement over the Buell Blast. The weak front brake didn't help the Street 750 very much. -American auto makers have rebounded and Harley will too. Remember when nobody under 50 drove a Cadillac?

Good info. I don't practice emergency braking as much as I should.

The longer wheelbase gives a smoother ride, Kat.

Glad you found the time slips, Leo. You know we believed you without seeing them. A good forum needs plenty of disagreement, but Piston Guy went way beyond that. I wish more people knew how to argue and discuss ideas without hurling insults.

Knowing the correct date does not make you more macho, so why bother?

I really wanted a Genuine Blur 220 when they were first introduced. Not a freeway scoot, but they would do 65mph. The engine had EFI, but it was air cooled and valve adjustments weren't complicated. -Alas, they were not as reliable as the Buddies and Stellas, so they didn't sell well.

"Danielle is former roller-derby"Your knowledge is legendary, Leo. I had no idea. Danny is so quirky that I figured she was an artist. Remember the Raquel Welch movie, "Kansas City Bomber"? Welch was a roller derby girl. Wish we had DVD back then.

I thought of another one to add to your list, w650. The Genuine Stella is out of production, as producer LML has fallen into insolvency. The Genuine Stella is a steel body replica of a classic Vespa; right down to the spare tire. Most were 150cc 2 strokes with a four speed manual, but more recent versions had a four stroke and CVT.

I heard that a 400cc XMAX will be introduced in Europe in 2018. Maybe they will sell it here too.

The P-51 escort plane was not successful until the Rolls Royce "Merlin" engine was installed.

In my experience, you need to run the bike at top speed for a few min it's befoRe getting a plug reading. The engine needs to get to a high power setting to employ the main jet.
