MotoGP hotshots Marquez and Pedrosa like the Cubs too. Honda organized an exhibition race with all on Super Cubs, at Montegi. They duked it out like it was a points race.

Coincidently, I watched the 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express on the tele this weekend. -I am a fan of Albert Finney, but I did not like him as Hercule Piorot. His accent sounded more German than French! -The Academy disagreed with me and nominated Finney for best actor that year. -Seeing Jacqueline Bissett at that age made up for my disappointment in Finney.

"Here in Palm Springs the weather is sunny almost all year long (with maybe a total of 2-3 weeks of rain a year.)"
When I lived in the Phoenix area, I felt the same way. I didn't have a scooter but I commuted a lot on bicycles and later motorized bicycles. Few experiences compare to that of sitting in a hot car after it has been sitting in the summer sun in Phoenix for several hours. It can turn your leather interior to cracklins!

If more states made lane splitting legal, I have no doubt that sales of two wheeled motorized transportation would increase significantly. Lane splitting, though hazardous, would slice my commute time in half.

I saw the new Murder on the Orient Express yesterday. I really enjoyed it. I liked this Inspector Poirot far more than the one we saw a lot on Public Television.

Your dad had an amazing life Leo. After 8 years in the USMC, I still can't imagine what it would be like to storm those beaches in WWII. I really didn't know that soldiers entered Hiroshima so soon after the nuclear blast.

I would probably get along well with your ROTC friend, Kat. I also flip out a bit during war movies when they show a warplane with a big radial engine flying along, but the engine sound is sourced from an inline engine. That really bugs me. A radial engine sounds like a garage full of Harleys when running.

"Dad hit the beach on Tarawa in WWII"
Wow!. Did he survive it? There were so many casualties from the invasion of Tarawa. -We were scheduled to anchor off the atoll of Tarawa during our Westpac in 1989, but budget cuts (Gramm-Rudman act) got in the way. Alas, we never sailed across the equator into the southern hemisphere.

I was in the USMC when the wall came down in Berlin. I was on a Westpac deployment aboard the USS Tarawa.

Kat- I did not find any films directed by Bronson. I guess he had no desire to be a director. I think he was Too Macho to be a director.
I like Outlaw Josie Wales too, because he fired authentic Colt navy revolvers, using period correct black powder. Those black powder revolvers are really fun to shoot. They spit flame and smoke like a cannon.

I also read that Bronson was awarded a Purple Heart.

You must know your way around the world pretty well, Terrilee. 11 years abroad is a lot of NFL games missed.
