George Clooney incurred minor injuries recently when a Mercedes made a left turn in front of him in Sardinia. He is banged up, and will be needing a new scooter. He was wearing a helmet, to his credit. It is on all the news outlets, but TMZ seemed to have the best pics. Speedy recovery, George.

There are hundreds of entrance ramps in Houston and thousands of intersections. I could make a pro bono career out of it.

A motorcyclist had a fatal crash last night in Houston (no helmet) when he hit an unpainted curb on a freeway entrance ramp. I wish the TX DOT would spend a little money on reflective paint for curbs.

We love those movie taverns, Kat. Dinner and a movie in one stop.

Like the Yamaha. Did you see a displacement on the Kymco People and Exciting?

My source did not specify a country, Kat. We know that they already manufacture bikes in India to be sold in India.

"Harley-Davidson announced Monday it would move some of its production overseas to avoid a dramatic tariff increase imposed by the European Union." The EU tariff is in response to the US tariff on goods from the EU. I didn't realize that the EU is Harley's second largest market. I hate to see HD move some production over seas, but I believe they are just responding to changing economic conditions in order to remain competitive. -Ducati builds bikes in Spain to remain competitive. -Some Hondas are built in Thailand. -KTM has shifted some production to India. I feel like the Harley decision is merely an attempt to "follow suit", rather than becoming another shrinking American company. I wish them well. www.motorcycle.com/mini-features/harley-davidson-responds-eu-tariffs.html

I learned a lot about the US in the 1930s and 1940s from watching Bugs Bunny cartoons. Bugs would parody the prominent people of that time. I would see Bugs do a spoof of somebody and that lead me to look up more info on them. -My kids learned a lot, in the same way, from watching the Simpsons cartoon. My kids had it much easier, since they had google to help them research things.

"The golden years of the 50s where a factory worker could buy a house, a brand new car and raise 3 children are not coming back"
I remember those golden years extending into the early 1970s, PistonGuy. High school educated fellows from the north with good union jobs could afford a house, a family, and really nice vacations. Growing up in Georgia, we saw them passing thru on their way to and from Florida. We were jealous, of course.

I would be more worried about those big venomous snakes in Costa Rica, Ricardo. Even if I'm riding a scooter. (I posted this in the wrong thread a few minutes ago. Its been a long Monday for me).
