So, you see a nice machine in a classified ad. You go to take a look and are quite impressed with the condition, and are now considering the purchase. But...the guy you speak to tells you he has no title for it, and he has no way of contacting the fellow whom he got it from to hunt up the document.
Is all lost, or are there a set of hoops one can jump through to obtain a title in your name?

They mean Silicone, not silicon. Silicone lead acid batteries supposedly are a good budget alternative to other rechargeable cell chemistries.

Paladin, thanks for your input--that's exactly the kind of knowledge I was hoping someone had. The scoot in question is one of these: emotoev.com/products/scooters/g3/index.html ...which is a bit surprising because for the original MSRP of more than $2,000 they seemed to be asking far too little for it.

Saw one in a local listing with a 30 mile range and swappable battery pack for less than $800. And no, it didn't have removable pedals. Something like this would do great for all the short range stuff I do here in town.

Brother-in-law has a Honda C70 Passport (the American version of the Super Cub) that I've been wanting to buy for a while now, and he agreed to sell it to me come spring. Now, I gotta get a service manual and come up with a way to secure it out of the weather when the time comes!
