I'm concerned because I have a blue CDI and made many mods but I only have one tenth the knowledge you guys have. Scoot runs great, except the start issue.

I have to push my starter button several times as it gets 'stuck' and stops till I push the starter button a couple of times to get her to turn over. I have a 60 BBK. My battery is fully charged on a real car battery charger. So what type of CDI and where did you get it?

How many miles and what type or brand of starter clutch did you buy. I'm interested because I added a big block kit and I guess we will all be needing to replace this piece at some point in time.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement rubber tube for an all metal 30mm carburator intake manifold? Mine got a split in it. It's the rubber piece that connects the carb to the intake manifold.

Safe RPM's

What is the top SAFE RPM on a 150 gy6 with a 60mm big bore kit and matching big bore head with an A9 cam. Or better yet, what is the top revs you can run for short periods of time and feel good that your engine will get you home.

Another great way to get them out clean and no burrs is to use a drill driver and a new/good #2 Phillips head bit and hold the drill firmly and straight, and voila!

Easiest way to get them out it to put a good quality screw driver in the screw and hold it firmly then give it a firm tap with a hammer and it should let it loose, like a ball joint on a car.
As far as fluid itself, I changed one side of my brake caliper and being careful, I still got some on the plastic cowling around the on/ off switch and in that General area, and in a couple of weeks the cowl disintegrated everywhere the fluid came in contact with it. Like breaking pieces of plastic off as easy as breaking off a piece of cookie. Nasty stuff. Wiping it off does not help once it comes in contact with plastic.
You need to neutralize it with some degreaser or similar liquid ASAP because it will magically wreck your plastic parts while you sleep. $60 and three months of trying to find the matching cowl, is proof of what I know about break fluid and Chinese plastic.

Bigger carb, up from 24mm promoted me to reduce the jet to a 115. Dumb hillbilly fishing. There are slight pops on deceleration but the whole bike is disassembled (all the plastics are off ) so I have no tach access right now. A reverse trike has LOTS of plastic body panels. Time to change the jet to allow the air fuel mixture screw to work correctly. As I closed it, the revs increased all the way till full screw in. My next move is to reinstalled the 120 main and change the pilot jet.
By the way, I bought one of the gold CDI boxes we have all been reading about, and mine died in two days. No spark. I put the blue one in and got spark.

Alley glad you're here. I actually have a 60 mm BB and a 61mm head. So my son says because he bought it for me and his Chuckus which he and his young friends play with. I put the 16/37 gears in like you. I have an A9 cam. Here's my big important question for the moment.
I have a 28 mm carb that came with a 120 main. I put in a 115. After setting my throttle speed, I can screw the air fuel mixture all the way closed with the RPM's increasing till it stops turning. That tells me I need to change the main jet right?
Do I go up or down in size?

Yes. The exhaust is now 1" , up from 3/4". I have a 115 main jet in it now. 28 mm carb, OKO with a top mount throttle cable and flat slide. Manual choke. I also have an all metal 30mm intake manifold and the larger, sexy yellow/gold color CDI that others have been recently singing high praises for on this forum lately. I also find it to be the best running CDI I've had installed. I have the black, the blue, the Orange, the stock, and now the new bigger gold one. Thanks for all the help.

I installed a 58.5 BBK and a new cam. Performance exhaust and air filter and all aluminum 30 mm intake. Please keep the ideas coming
