My scooters been giving me problems lately. At first it started stalling out during normal riding after checking many things I came to the conclusion I had a loose spark plug boot it wasnt clipping on so I switched it out and everything was fine for a while and then it started to happen again and this time I went to the cdi as a possible cause I thought that one of the contacts may have been shorting out or was loose or something because a while ago I had a problem where it fell off of its mount and was dragging on the ground causing some wires to get yanked out so I wired it back up but for some reason I forget why I couldnt use the four part white connector block I have no idea where it is now i think i lost it anyway i still have the metal connector parts and know where they go so i wired them on and secured them with heat shrink tubing anyway i think one of the connections is giving me trouble for some reason sometimes my scooter wont start but if i adjust the connection that i think is the problem just by pushing it to the side a bit it will usually start if not sometimes it does nothing and other times i just get a whirring noise but if i adjust the wire just right by pushing it to the side a bit it will run but if i push it back to the other side it will stall i know this sounds crazy and its driving me insane i cant figure out whats going on here any way after trying to figure it out for a while it seems like the battery might have drained no more whirring noise and when i tried to start it the rear tail light would go out so i figured dead battery checked it and it read 12.5 so i put it on the charger and it didnt take long to get a full charge so im also thinking the cold temps here might have something to do with it i recently rebuilt the top end and did a valve adjustment i could tell the compression is pretty high from turning the flywheel by hand also im using 15w40 while im still breaking it in i probably have about 200-300 miles on the new top end so yeah im not sure whats really wrong with it here does anybody have any thoughts on these issues that could possibly help me out here

spare fuses, wire strippers, e-tape, extra oil i keep some in those little 50ml shot bottles usually found on airplanes and at hotel mini bars, and some spare gas in about a 20oz bottle or so would be good for emergencies to get to a gas station, zip ties or cable ties, surgical and mechanics gloves, some hand sanitizer and a hand towel, tire gauge, jumper cables, a battery charger, spare bulbs, some rain gear, paper towels, napkins... the list goes on and on

I think i found the problem again i inspected the relay the connections didnt look too good so i removed the white block plugs and just hard wired it but i was still having problems so i tried to pry off the cover of the switch it came out a little bit and out fell a spring i thought that was it for that and i was going to need a new one but then just for the heck of it i decided to see if it got better or worse well it did the switch is now a little loose but it works better now much better actually still having very minor problems with it especially when i switch it left sometimes i have to click it again but at least its working better now

last year in chicago was really rough but i rode through most of it. Its not so much the cold for me as it is the road conditions and you really dont know how theyre going to be untill you get out there. As far as the cold goes it doesnt bother me too much I bundle up and feel more protected than i usually do but that polar vortex was brutal and couldnt really ride as long or as far without freezing.

I think I figured out the problem I think the relay got wet when it was raining because it had time to dry out and works fine now
