My scooter broke down on me and after trying everything spark, fuel, and compression I found I no longer had good compression so I ordered a 59mm BBK Ive never replaced the top end before. Ive changed heads though and watched a youtube video its not the best quality so Im a little nervous as I dont want to mess anything up. So I was wondering what am I looking at how tough of a job is this and are there any pointers anybody could give me to help me out.

Just make sure you put the rings on right and in the right order and space out the gaps around the piston you do not want the ring gaps to line up one above the other. Alleyoop

How do you know what order to put the rings in. I know the oil rings go on the bottom but Im not sure about the top and middle I have 2 rings one that has an R on it and the other has RN on it.

What motor is in that scoot? is it a 139qmb motor or what? That looks like a camshaft stopper of some kind. Picture of your cam and head and rocker assembly would help id the part. Alleyoop

if you don't put them back in you will not have a functioning cam stopper. So the worse case scenario is it could start up backwards but you would know that right away and shut it down and try again. Alleyoop

If it is white it is fuel, so it could be a little rich due to the enricher also feeding it extra fuel for cold starts. If it is blueish it is oil and that would mean the valves are leaking a little and a little bit of oil dripped down into the chamber and that gets burned off soon after the motor starts. Start it up and right away put your palm by the muffler and it will get on your hands and then you will know if it is gas or oil. Alleyoop
