(yeah, constructive. And very very necessary. I've had a vertical creek running down inside my basement every time it's rained for the last month. And a recurring pond of various sizes, from only a few feet when I caught it early, to 12' long when I wasn't home all night and morning. The mice have started building a cabana. Luckily I have a long-time customer who's a licensed home inspector who came and looked and offered "the quick fix" and the names of two foundation guys for "the real fix". Quick fix was move out the river rock and pour five 40lb bags of dirt there, wait then add five more. I really need to do the rest of that wall, but since I think I'm going with the major fix of anchoring the wall rather than bracing, and since that end only leaks a little--which I hadn't known 'til I found some sacks that had gotten wet, sigh, more spoiled stuff--but I see no need to exacerbate my injury by digging underneath the window's little overhang.)

(I sympathize fly'--I did something horrible to my shoulder/neck/back shoveling 14 sq ft of river rock to add dirt and regrade the front foundation)
