Somehow they got one of the haulers involved-- The announcer called our attention to the plate in his window--this was a street-legal semi. I guess one of the drivers decided to pit his cab against the regulars, unhitched the trailer, and lined up. I don't know how much weight they loaded, but he pulled it farther than any of the competitors!

All righty, so some of you read that I was going to the state fair. And that there was a tractor pull. And encouraged me to see it. All I can say is BOY HOWDY! Which coughed out more smoke, red or green?

Considering that all our garbage man does now is drive the truck and activate the arm, and occasionally get out to toss the single bag in from folks like Mom & me, then it has to be the chimney sweep.

Shall I make you cry?
We used to own a banana-seat Schwinn with the fat smooth back tire and the high handlebars and pedal-brakes. Sold it in a garage sale decades ago for probably $20. I named it the Dragon 'cause it was metallic green.
We still have Mom's old Schwinn. It's a 5-speed, lady's frame, metallic green with a small green & white seat and short handlebars. It used to have white walls but unlike our Leo I don't care either way.

You and your whitewalls....
That really is a beautiful machine! Love the curves of the frame. And the colors. But Old Yeller doesn't seem the right name for her--she's way more elegant than that thievin' lop-eared old yeller dog.
Btb, that is one of my fave scenes--Chuck Connors confronting Arliss. Perfect camera work, making the already-tall Connors appear even taller, per Arliss' viewpoint. Wonderful!

Prospect Avenue (my wallet's thin too, 'gull) (and fly', it used to be a flea market. It was the grandest place of all back then. You ordered your burgers 'n' fries, then hit some of the shops while waiting for them to be grilled. After finishing--ok, after getting roughly halfway through and boxing up the rest --you hit the rest of the shops. Bought my first coins from a dealer there. My bro bought baseball cards. Got some records. Probably old comics. Some jewelry. Ok, probably too much jewelry, so I'm a girl and like pretties so sue me but you'll get nothing 'cause it's all costume. I don't even remember what-all neat fun stuff. But the shops closed one by one. First the entire back side went away. Then the end. Then three of the front shops. Finally the last guy got old enough he didn't want to keep dealing and closed his. So the Fleamarket is no longer. But the memories are still there. And their fresh all-beef burgers from McGonigle's are still the best in KC!)
