(and sausage doesn't go on pizza. It goes into sausage balls.)
(funny story about sausage balls. Mom would make sausage balls for Christmas. She'd always line them up on the table to cool, and to count them when she was done. One time, she went upstairs to iron while they were still cooling. A friend called, so this took longer than planned. After a while, she thought she'd better check on the dog--it had been a long time since she'd been outside. Mom went down, and found that the dog had gone row by row eating the sausage balls. We assume she was keeping count of how many she'd snagged. No, the dog had never before shown any interest in anything left on the table. And no, we didn't give away sausage balls that year. But we did eat the rest ourselves.)
