will a normal 50cc head work good for a replacement for the one on my secret 63?? im pretty sure that old engine should fire right up with a replaced head. and it had gobs of power... I want it running again.

I still have my old 2009 Peace 50 in my moms backyard, its been sitting for about a year and a half.. Im pretty sure the head went bad , thats why I parked it.. (it is a secret 63) How hard would it be to replace the head on it?? Last time I tried to disassemble one of these engines, I couldnt figure out how to get the chain off the cam so I could take it all apart... Also, If I bought one of those 80 BBK kits... how hard are they for someone whos knowledgable but not an expert at the internals of an engine to install??

Nah, I actually love my chinese scooter, It's very comfortable, the suspension is just perfect for me, its slighty stiff but not over bearing, and it handles great.. This scooter has alot of power for a 50cc.. I still havent found found anyone riding on a 50 that can keep up with it. im not quite sure why that is.. I dont know if the previous owner changed any parts, but I havent seen any that is visible... but yea.. other than the fact I am worried its gonna blow up soon, because it has 4500 miles on it, I absolutely love it.

chihuahuas: what do mean by EPA says 18,000? Also are you saying that all your chinese scoots wear out at 9000 miles?

Well mainly im curious about the chinese scoots... I cant remember is Tank is a chinese or not.. I have a friend who has owned 2 Honda elite 80's .. the first one he put over 20,000 miles on it until some old woman in a car slammed into the back of him nd destroyed the scooter and nearly killed him... Well he bought one identical to it after he healed up from the accident, and right now he has close to 30,000 on it completely stock and never been rebuilt whatsoever... all hes ever done to it is replace the exhaust twice, because it broke off from the bad roads here in SC, and he regularly changes the oil... Those japanese scoots are pretty badass.. Wish I wasnt so poor, I would get one.

hmm alright... well that sound makes me feel better, but the mileage thing does not... .. this is my only transportation and I really hope im not be out of a ride again in a few thousand more miles.... I have put that that 2500 miles in only a few months... it took me forever and a day with no job to be able to buy this damn thing used.. if I have to buy another one I am gonna be up a creek.

man I really miss that 150.. It was a JMStar with an upjetted carb, and a UNI filter, thing would freaking fly... I was seriously putting 250 to 300 miles a WEEK on that thing, for about a year before it crapped out... i wish I wouldve just parked the damn thing until I bought the new header pipe for it, instead of driving it to work.... If I could only go back in time

also, im just kinda curious.. how many miles is considered ALOT of miles on these 50cc gy6's? I have had a 150cc... (I drove it with no exhaust whatsoever because it broke off and after about 5 hundred miles or so the motor completely lost compression) I had another 2009 50cc Peace (not quite sure why but at about 7000 miles the head got screwy somehow and I cant set the valve clearance anymore.. because the valve literally touches the rocker arm even if the tappet is completely out) which really sucks because that thing is a "secret 63" and it hauled some serious . but thos one kinda hauls too, but I havent seen any markings to say its a 63... I also had a 2002 Chinese scoot with a 2 stroke engine that was a complete piece of utter crap. but to be fair, I bought it from a guy on craigslist for 100 dollars, and it was beat all to living by the time I got it. but damn that thing was slow lol... The motor completely seized on me one day while driving it lol! it was crazy... it had about 6000 miles on it if im remembering correctly...

oh yea?? well this one isnt new... its a 2010 yy50qt-6 just had 2000 miles on it when I got it, just turned over 4500 yesterday... but this thing is still in almost new condition, I seriously take care of this thing... I attempted to check my valve clearance's today, but I couldnt get the bottom two bolts off the valve cover... I have a cheap set of chinese sockets aswell.. so I am gonna have to go buy an 8mm wrench ffs. But I really hate to even take anything apart on this scooter, just for the fact that it runs so good and so much power, I would hate to Screw something up, while trying to make it better...

As a matter of fact, I changed the oil this morning to see if it would quiet down... I regularly change my oil every 1000 miles give or take a 100 miles or so

Well, When I start my scooter and the engine is cold, it sounds quiet, I dont hear any valve tapping at all. after a few minutes of driving, I start to hear tapping.. It isnt extremely loud, but its loud enough to be noticeable, and its got me worried.. It just started this bout a week ago. and its seems to be getting louder... I have no loss of power, and to be honest the scooter runs absolutely great. should I be concerned??
