weajef, tortoise, crawford, scootdoggydog I want to thank everybody for the trouble shooting help,but I found the problem. It was the needle for the diaphragm, the "e" clip on the needle popped off so the needle remained in the seat. Got that all back together and it now runs properly.

If you're lucky,you can throttle the engine up to 3-4k rpm and it will run smooth for like 30 seconds. If you just twist the throttle to rev it,it bogs down and chokes out.

I will have to check the slide,but yes the carb is vented to the atmosphere.

Need some help. My boys scooter is has a problem. It's a 2010 Peace Bashan with a gy6 49cc 4 stroke. We can get the scoot started and will idle,but you can't throttle it up without stalling the motor. I have checked the valve lash and it is fine,but getting a strong smell of gas when it idles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't even attempt to start,it just turns and turns,then starts to stink really bad of fuel. Previous owner said that ever since they bought it new it's always had a hard time starting especially in the cold. The day we went to see it the owner had a little heater next to the motor to help warm it up. Dealership where they got it,told them the whole batch they got of this model had starting problems.oh and the previous owner NEVER lashed the valves.

Ok,took care of that,but the motor still won't start. Put a new plug in it last summer and have plenty of spark.

Ok. Checked that and tightened it up. no more leak,but engine still won't start.

Hi all,
Just got my new carb today,installed it and scoot still won't start,but the tube that bolts to the frame that comes off the bottom of the carb,you know ,the one with the spring around it leaks like a civ whenever I try to start it. Can somebody please help!

Can anybody tell me what kind of carb is on a Bashan Peace 49cc scooter? And where can I find either a owners manual or service manual?

We bought a 2010 Bashan Peace Dash 50 for our son. The problem is we can't get it to start,it floods itself trying to start. We heard and saw it run just two days before we got it. Now previous owner said he was told by dealer that every scooter in the batch they received does not like the cold weather. This is getting annoying. Already cleaned the plug and checked and gapped plug,but still won't start. Plug has plenty of spark. PLEASE HELP!
