We bought a 2010 Bashan Peace Dash 50 for our son. The problem is we can't get it to start,it floods itself trying to start. We heard and saw it run just two days before we got it. Now previous owner said he was told by dealer that every scooter in the batch they received does not like the cold weather. This is getting annoying. Already cleaned the plug and checked and gapped plug, but still won't start. Plug has plenty of spark. PLEASE HELP!

How many miles are on it ? Is is stock ? All 4T or 4 strokes will need the valves adjusted at least once . What happens is they get tight or do not open enough to allow fuel and air into the cylinder to run it . This baffles most shade tree wrenchers as it may have fire , fuel , and compression but no start . This is why so many used ones are priced so cheap as they do not know about this issue .
Scooters often have an electric choke where some old ones may have a manual choke to help in cold starts . Mine start up just fine even down to 18 degrees . When you go to start it do not give it any throttle until it starts then only give it a sip as too much throttle you can flood it . Now when it is cold allow it to warm up prior to riding as with any small engine they are cold natured and need to get warmed up some in order to run good

[replyingto=skuttadawg]skuttadawg[/replyingto]It has between 3400 to 3500 MILES. It is bone stock except for an after-market muffler. Will contact previous owner to see if it has ever had the valves lashed or not.

even if he did it's worth checking them. also, the air/fuel may simply be too rich. screw it all the way in then out just a little and see if it will start or keeps flooding. if it starts let it warm up then go through a proper mixture adjustment procedure when it is warmed up as my suggestion is simply to reduce the fuel and is in no way correct for riding.
