had my car belt squeek too in the mornings. According to the mechanic,it is water damp (condensation) on the belt causing this. From what i have found with my old 50cc (almost the same cvt just these are bigger) Its the moisture as well as rubber buildup on the variator and rear belt plates Some brake cleaner and a light scrubbing removes the rubber pretty quick

How much are you paying, and how many miles is on the Burgman? Paying $1998 plus taxes and a $400 shipping fee cause riding it with the weather lately would be a pain and it has 28,000 miles on it. CVT fully serviced (new clutch new rollers new belt) when the Marina that is selling it got it along with full checkup on everything else

Definitely getting decent gear since this is going to be my long trip vehicle. Gotta be able to get me from Indiana to Washington and back and do it as safely as possible in all types of weather. going to be doing a lot of camping on my trips as well so needed something with storage room. going to be adding saddle bags to go with the nice sized under seat storage thinking should be enough for tent, tarps, sleeping bag, food, water, a spare 2 gallon gas can, and some spare clothes, might get a tunnel bag as well to help with that

i know this one all to well. from a couple experiances. first one was going around a corner i had gone around quite a few times but the one time i didn't have my gear on besides my brain bucket (always wore that) and of all things was in shorts i come around it and in the middle a small rut had formed. My back tire caught the rut causing the bike to jump then do a side tumble throwing me about 15 or so feet. this was a chip & tar road so shoulder ground bloody, hip ground bloody knees banged up with road rash. if i hadn't had my full face helmet on i would be missing the right side of my face since it was the first to land and slide before the rest of me. Needless to say always wore full gear after that.
Second story, Was riding down a nice back country road running about 40-45mph when bammm right in the chest a big ole june beattle hit me, felt like a baseball even through my leather, had to stop and catch my breath but could only imagine what would have happened without the padding of the jacket.
Wearing full gear always a great idea and a lot less painful

So glad to be back online. Still have my old chopped 50cc frankenstein (part Wildfire S part honda nu50) but the wiring need completely redone. But also soon to be riding again. Got my eye on a '04 Burgman 400 so can't wait. Anyways Glad to be back
