Does it idle down immediately after giving it gas or does it have to warm up for a minute or two before it starts to drop off? If it's the latter, it may need a valve adjustment.

Motorcycle Superstore also has some good 3.5/10 tires in stock for decent prices. I put the Michelin S83s on my scooter recently and the ride is so much smoother. www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5/32/404/5940/ITEM/Michelin-S83-Classic-Scooter-Tire.aspxUnless you're really short on cash, i'd recommend calling a few scooter or motorcycle shops and find out how much they'd charge to change the tire if you bring in the tires/wheels only. Also make sure to check the valve stems for cracking rubber and replace them also while changing the tires.

I also have the Verona 50cc and I use 15w40, which is what Peace recommended (the distributor is here in Dallas).
