[replyingto=ronank]Ronan[/replyingto]Mine was the same way, I took an exacto knife and cut a groove in mine then used a precision screw driver and adjusted mine. Hope this helps you out, there is other ways but to me this was the easiest without messing up the threads.
Happy Scootin
Tony

Wish I had a small engine dyno. Roy I've got a friend that pulls garden tractors and has some blueprints of a small engine dyno that they built for the garden tractors. I'm sure I could get my hands on them and its a pretty straight forward simple setup. If so Ill be more than happy to share. Happy Scootin Tony

Will do dave, looks like rain here so the cleaning up will have to wat for a pretty day. The CDI and Coil I went with is like day and night, starts faster and runs a lot smoother than before. The hotter coil helps with burning off access fuel and seems to help with overall performance. I love the CDI's performance because. it has an advanced timing curve and no rev limit and gave me about four mph more top speed on the flats. Happy scootin everyone Tony

Happy as a lark right now, scoots been down since i got it. Performance Cdi and coil came today as I ws eagerly awaiting the mail carrier to come by. Changed the old forr the new, crossed my fingers and turned the key on and hit the button. Didn't even make a full revolution and vroom. My fiance said oh my god you look like a kid that just got that new bicycle for chhristmas the way I was smiling. ;D Took it for a test ride and couldn't stop lol. I went down to walmart and utozone to pic up a few cleaning. supplies to clean it up and make it look half decent. Thinking about riding down by the lake. Happy scooting everyone! Attachments:

My spark is real light orange, fires just hot enough to hit but refuses to start. I'm going to have to wait till friday to order my cdi and coil. Thinkng about going with scrappy's performance CDI and coil, any opinions on that combo or any suggestion on another product? The center stand is the only one with the switch but its been bypassed since before I got it.

That's what i was thinking is cdi is going out or bad. I'm going to order a high performance cdi and coil for it this coming week sometime. Was just curious if it could just be the plug. May go ahead and buy a new iradium plug while I'm at it so I know its a good hhot plug.

There good solder joints, I always heat the wire with the iron after preping with alcohol and flux. Ive always worked on electric RC cars and am aware of the importance of a good solder joint. The gas was drained by first disconnecting the fuel line at the carb, then drained tank, pump and then the carb.

Just recently bought another scoot to ride to and work as primary transportation. Ran good when the gentleman I purchased it from delivered it to me. went to start it the next morning to leave for work and nothing. got a ride to work from a friend and tried to find the problem wheen I got home. found a mess with the key switch wires where they had been spliced andd tied together. soldered the wires and put some good shrink tubing on them. checked fuel for water and put fresh fuel in it. checked the rest of the wiires for.r a ba conection but did not find anything. it. Had it hitting and trying to start, checked the plug and seemed to me see ms the sprark is extremly weak from the plug. Oh forgot to mention its 50cc 139qmb.

Hello all, just made the move from sd. I am a tinkerer of sorts and love new challenges. I just recently got a (new to me) scoot after my atm50 was stolen back in the winter. The scoot I've got now is a tank md50qt-5. Its thrown me for a loop, it was running fine last night as I froze my butt off riding around the neighborhood for a good half hour, with a smile I must say. Now it will just crank but not even offering to hit. I'm going to get the plastics off tomorrow after work and see what is going on. keep scootin Tony
