Right now I just wanna get it running right, stop the backfiring and bogging. Gotta save up some more for more performance parts

From what I've heard stock is 35 and those that upgrade do a 38

Do you believe that the air filter will stop the backfiring?

Ok so taking the air box cover off helped the bogging when moving then accelerating. But I'm still getting a bog on acceleration from a stop. So should I drill out the main jet up to a ? Any ideas on the back fire?

Get rid of the air box for the bogging problem or the backfire? To test would pulling the plastic cover over the filter be good? Just to see if more air helps?

You think I need an even bigger jet? Even with the back firing? The timing is spot on so I thought backfiring would be from too much gas?

Ok so been monkeying around with it today. First took entire air filter cover off and seemed to help a lot. Then reinstalled cover but removed little snorkel thing and still seems good. Now I'm just bogging out when I accelerate, but just for a couple seconds. Or if I am full throttle the go to half throttle then try to accelerate it bogs for a couple seconds. But I'm still getting a lot of back firing. Would adjusting the needle help? That's under the plastic cover on top of the carb right?

Ok so I got my #92 jet installed and now as soon as I hit the gas it bogs out, once it gets through it it goes good but then at full throttle or a bit less I get this little pulsation. Is this too big of a jet?

Still working on getting my bbk, perf. head and a9 all working right. Finally picked up my #92 main jet. But still getting a lot of backfiring, haven't installed the 92 yet. But checked the air filter and noticed a lot of gas in it. Is this an issue or is it just from the float sticking? I think mine sticks a lot cause of living down a bumpy road

Ok so finally got my a9 cam today! Hopefully will get that installed in the next few days, still waiting for my #92 main jet. Maybe my cam is just a tooth off and thats my problems? But millsc you said with this head I would probably need a bigger jet than # . Thinking of putting in a #38 idle jet, cause Im having to hit the throttle most of the time to get the electric starter to work.

It would be very interesting if someone got oil analysis done on their oil one with Dino then synthetic oil, or two scoots with similar miles and setups.

Don't listen to people who tell you the gy6 isn't work synthetic oil, why would you skip on maintence quality? Give it a day or two just to see if its just oil dripping off the outside of the engine, unless your getting a huge puddle.

Thanks for that info, I'm just a bit confused cause it seems like my # jet seems to small, cause the engine is running very very hot and feels like I'm not getting enough fuel but the on de acceleration I'm getting this popping or back firing. I'm just a bit confused.
