On my scoot I have now its got a Kickstand Kill engine and wont crank when its down. This is the 1st one I have had with this, although it is a good idea, I dnt really like it.
I have unscewed the part from the kickstand and looked at the top where it looks to be connected but when trying to get it off it does not seem to wanna come off at all, And I dont wanna break it, Id rather have a running scoot with the kickstand Kill then a Non running scoot.
I'm just afraid it may 1day malfunction or something and even when the kickstand is up Im afraid it may not crank due to it 1 day going bad.
I followed the cord and of course it goes all the way back to the engine but Im not about to mess with that end.
Anyone got a scoot like this and know a easy way to get around it?
Thanks

It could be the carb, I know one time when I had taken apart my carb and put it back together I put the rubber seal on upside down or just not the way it was suppose to be. It cranked and everything I thought was fine, but when I went to ride off it was Hardly any power to it.
Maybe check the carb seal and make sure all is well with that and the carb itself. I'm newer to scoots as I got my first back in 2013 a 50cc tao tao, then q in 2014 150cc GY6 clone engine by Jonway, And now a 2015 150cc gy6 by Yimen (Think thats how its spelt) You start to learn as you DIY work instead of pay to have a work on it thats gonna over charge u and claim it needs other parts it prob doesnt.
When U get it fixed, Have u ever considered changing the CDI out? And putting a CDI NO REV LIMIT racing performance 1 in? along with a Better quality coil and performance spark plug. I have done that with my last 2 150cc's and it does give it a bit more power on take off and def a little more on Top end.. They have full kits on ebay and amazon for like 20bucks. their super easy to install...

It was a Bad battery. I just got my new one in from Amazon yesterday
I got the " YTX7A-BS High Performance Power Sports Battery" By Chromebattery , Soon as I put it in it cranked right up like new just like when I bought it! And the price was great! $30 Its got tons and tons of great reviews, Many ppl said it works better thn the one they bought from Auto Zone. I went ahead and bought my own Volt meter to and found a good enough one for $10bucks. Works great as well , Tested the new bat out the pack and it was fully charged reading over 13v, while the 1 going bad was right below 12.
Im gonna get one of the 12V Gel Batterys for my other scoot I dnt ride much anymore, I have had it 3 years and its been running on the same battery that came with it ever since!!

Yea riding is great most the year here in Sout carolina as well.
I dont live far from HILTON HEAD ISLAND(Not sure if you have ever heard of it or not) But the beach is great to go to and a nice 150cc scoot is perfect for riding to places like that.
I use my scoot more than my truck! I go to the grocery store etc on it. Its perfect and this is my 3rd one, first was a 50cc tao tao, 2nd was a 150cc pro eagle from powerrideoutlet which I loved but I ended up getting in a bad wreck on it.
Now my 3rd one the one in MY pic is the most smoothest riding one I have had yet! All I do Is take out the factory CDI(NO REV LIMIT, gives it a bit more power on take off and top end speed) coil, spark plug, and I install a racing performance CDI with a Better quality coil and better brand spark plug. I have always used Synthetic oil in my scoots. Ppl say the reg kind is fine but I still go with syn, And only run the highest grade gas in them.
The 1st 2 I had NEVER got 70MPG+ like everybody claims, But my new one Which is manufactured by Kaitong and Put together with YIMAN parts which from my understanding are good quality, It actually does get a huge amount of Mpg like scoots r suppose to. I can put 2 bucks or so in it and give it half a tank and ride a good week or so.
You should look on ebay or Amazon an think about switching out CDI's to a Norev limit, U would be surprised the difference it gives.

Have you ever changed CDI's with a Performance racing CDI(No rev limit) ,new coil and spark? It actually does give it a nice get up and go!

Right on! I have a 50cc TAO TAO and have had it since 2013 and im bout to make the 1k mark myself.I dont ride long distances much.
And surprisingly The battery that came with it is still the one running it right now! It has died, but I just add water and Charge and it holds charge for weeks on weeks. But since I just bought a new 150cc bat Last night on Amazon for my other 150 scoot, Im gonna put the one from the 150cc in the 50cc even though It doesnt seem to hold charge, ONLY AFTER 2 MNTHS! cheap DUD jap battery's, Im thinking of trying the water trick again and see how that goes, If no go, O well Need to buy a new one for the little guy anyway..
Keep on SCCOTIN

I ended up buying the ' YTX7A-BS High Performance Power Sports Battery'
Hope I made the right choice, I was really leaning on the Gel Bat. Both were a great price!
And reviews were all great on both.

Right on bro!
My scooter Only has 1 Light In the front, but its shaped and Only Holds 1 Light, U may be able to get somewhat of a view of how my front light is in my Pic.
I have never thought about changing the back& right turn signal , their pretty bright, almost a neon color. The side lights in the front are very bright as well.
I've just had to order a New Battery from Amazon, My other Bat that came with it when I got it 2 mnths ago seems to be a dud, It will still crank, but it takes a few turn overs before it fires up, when I first got it soon as I hit the button FIRED RIGHT UP!
I was torn between getting a 'YTX7A-BS GEL 12V 6AH Battery for Scooter KYMCO People 150 150CC 09 - Mighty Max Battery' which had many good reviews. for a great price.
Or the one I ended up buying the ' YTX7A-BS High Performance Power Sports Battery' Hope I made the right choice, this one had non stop great reviews and for the price? U COULDNT BEAT IT!
Decided to go ahead and buy a cheap volt tester while I was at it, just to have on hand.
Sorry bout the rambling. If you get a chance tell me your opinion on if you think I got the best battery out of the 2. Thanks or any1 else can chime in for that matter.

Well, YTX7A-BS is actually the size and capacity of the battery you are looking at based on the Yuasa coding system. Yuasa's method of naming batteries has become essentially de-facto in the power sports industry since they are the OE battery found in most Japanese bikes and many american products as well, and all the other batter manufactures just copied it. Have you looked at any brands of batteries in that size yet? This is where the difference lies. A few things you'll want to pay attention to: Cheap "Gel" Batteries: Most of the time if the battery is inexpensive, and marketed as "Gel", it's not actually a Gel battery so much as it's a maintenance free AGM battery. AGM stands for "absorbed glass mat", and instead of a liquid or a gel holding the acid to the plates inside the cells, the acid is held by a fiberglass mat. There's nothing wrong with these (on the contrary, a good quality AGM battery is indeed a very good thing and what I would recommend), but it is misleading marketing. True Gel batteries tend to be fairly spendy, be wary of cheap gel. If you are in the upper level market for a battery, and you want traditional Lead Acid, just buy a Yuasa. You'll pay for it, but they are great batteries. Can't go wrong with a Yuasa. I would recommended that you get comfortable with a couple of brands of batteries that have a proven track record. Also, not all Chinese batteries are created equal, and this holds truer than some other good/bad Chinese built parts. I source my Universal Parts brand batteries from a very particular factory in China, and they take their quality very seriously. So much so that we stopped carrying a different "uplevel" brand of battery due to the fact that our batteries we experiencing substantially lower failure than the supposedly better batteries. They do cost a bit more than the most affordable of Chinese batteries however. I also visited some pretty scary factories however, and sad to say there are some pretty terrible quality cheap batteries on the market right now too. Matt Thanks for bringing up that info about the Gel cheap batteries, The Gel Battery was a 'YTX7A-BS' BUT LIKE i said after reading the info u mention I went and did some more research and the 12V I was looking at was Only $30, after seeing the other prices in google of some I understood it was a gamble. SO I got the one Below. Decent price, great reviews all over Amazon about scooters etc, so Hopefully I made a Good Choice. YTX7A-BS High Performance Power Sports Battery

I was about to buy a Volt Meter i found on Amazon for $10 bucks, Then My buddy came over and Tested and its a bad crappy Chinese Battery (dud) Not holding charge like it should. Like I said It does down a LOT after taking the trickel charger off after being on all night, Then not riding it and letting it sit, It should hold the charge I gave it the Night before but it doesnt. The Bat Volts when tested were not good at all from what my buddy said, he did some other Test and said everything else is fine according to the meter. I plan on going ahead and buying a Meter off amazon whn I buy a New Battery..
TIPS ON WHICH BATTERY IS THE BEST?? WIll the one below be fine? It has great reviews for scooters
Are the ones I posted worth buying? Im really thinking about the YTX7A-BS GEL 12V 6AH Battery..
We put a Lil water in the Battery and hooked it up to one of my other scooter after letting it charge a Hour and Fired right up. Looked like the acid was low or something my friend said( Im not a Mechanic ) so I'm not sure of all the Lingo, I just know how to keep up my maintenance etc..
Also DOES ANY KNOW how to unhook that annoying Kickstand dead Kill? I have Unbolted it from the kick stand and tried lightly to unplug the top but im afraid It will Break. Id reather deal with it then have a Non running scooter
So Throw me some BATTERY ideas besides the one Im really thinking of getting I mention Above. Any not good ideas to get that 1? Or looks all good?
