I'm needing to go El cheapo route, but would want something that won't break down. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

tips on how to troubleshoot this? If gas tank has a vent line . . bump may have caused splashed fuel to wet vent element, restricting fuel outflow. Try a test run with a loose gas tank cap.

why do you think something broke inside the engine ? Sheared woodruff key throws off ignition timing.

Verify flywheel-crankshaft woodruff key has not sheared. Insert a probe into sparkplug hole to determine piston top-dead-center . . then observe if flywheel T-mark is aligned with case indicator.

The Rotating assy is Out of balance. Any opinions on how to achieve a do-it-yourself static balance? Most of the YouTube videos show what a static balance should look like . . but NOT how that was achieved. Seems like installing a heavier piston assembly would require adding crankshaft weight to counter-balance. How about including the flywheel in the assembly . . then drilling the flywheel as needed to balance?

BBK heavier piston subjects the engine to unbalanced rotational dynamics . . somewhat similar to an unbalanced load of laundry in a top loading washing machine during the spin cycle. The downside is enhanced odds of bearing failure.
For others researching . . selecting a 50cc scooter still remains the most frequent regret. Save yourself a lot of aggravation by taking the initiative to get a motorcycle endorsement, insurance, and selecting at least a 125cc scooter that is more compatible with typical metro traffic.

Just thought someone might know the issue I am having. Especially those with telepathic abilities! Why aren't YOU down on your knees, probing with a screwdriver to isolate the noise?

Hello from Hendersonville.NC Hope I'm wrong . . but NC queries are typically about how to elude the state stipulations and make their liquercycle go faster.

I thought maybe it was for a 150cc gy6 but the seller claims to not even have 150cc cylinder head cover gaskets available. Just curious . . who was the vendor? Definitely NOT optimal . . but one option is to cut the O-ring at highest position, overlap ends, and cut a "join-splice" at a 45° angle.

After eliminating everything else, I replaced the CDI and the coil/spark plug wire this weekend -- problem solved. "when I put it away for the winter, it was running perfectly. When I got it out this spring, it's running poorly"A perpetual mystery . . what continuity or circuit board element degraded during storage? Perhaps the EMP from a lighting storm zapped the CDI?

150cc GY6 Scootcoupe trike Interesting vehicle . . appears to have a GY6-B engine (2-bolt valve cover). Might verify the muffler outlet is not obstructed with nesting insects. Also observe the running engine in darkness to check for any wiring arcing created by gnawing rodents. An AC-CDI and ignition coil is relatively inexpensive . . "performance" ignition components are typically a waste of money.
