I will check the battery with my multimeter later.
Yes it is very hard to start when cold. (cold as in not started that day or sitting for a while after not running, not cold as in temperature) I literally have to kick it about 20 times before it starts. When it runs for awhile and is good and warm, it seems to start with the electric start just fine.
If I leave it sitting for an hour+ I will have to kick it again, but only about +/- 5 times then it starts.

[replyingto=clyffcarlock]clyffcarlock[/replyingto]Questions:
how long would you consider the scooter being "cold" to check the spark plug and gas usage?
Why would the sparkplug not fire in the cylinder when it did outside when I checked it against a frame bolt?
Why would the gas not flow to the cylinder when cold, if it flowed when I sucked on the vacuum line and it flowed and stopped when I quit?
2063 Miles. I adjusted the values about 4 months ago.

My scooter will not start by electric start first thing in the morning or if it has been sitting for long periods.
When I try to use the electric start, it seems as if it is not firing, just turning over.
It will start by kick start but only after I kick it hard about 20 times. Then after it gets started and drives for a while it will start up pretty easily by electric start.
All lights work. headlight, turn signals, taillight, display cluster lights etc...
I have check my spark plug and it sparks very good. I have check my fuel by sucking on my vacuum hose and fuel dispenses and shuts off after I quit sucking on the vacuum line.
Changed the electric choke out with another one I had on another scooter and it seems to make not difference. I do not know how to really check the electric choke so I am assuming it and the replacement works.
I checked the intake manifold and vacuum line nipple, both do not have any clog issues or air leaks around the gaskets. I am at a loss.
A few weeks ago, the scooter would start up just fine with the electric start after a few pushes of the button.
Is there anything else I need to check/replace that anyone can think of?

the scooter which is a 2008 roketa 50cc scooter at idle, seems to "breath". by that i mean it slightly idles high for a few seconds and then lowers back to normal constantly, like it is breathing. the idle does not get real high just a slight increase in idle then it lowers back to normal. does anyone know what is going on. thank you.

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]If the leak is through the vacuum tube to the intake manifold, where does the excess fuel go? Also, will there be a smell or odor of fuel present? I do not detect a fuel odor or visible leak. Thank you. Have not checked the vacuum line, will later tonight when I get to work.

I noticed my scooter is using a lot of fuel with no visible leaks or fuel vapor smell or odor. I also notice an erratic idle which i do not know if it is related to the excessive fuel use or not. It usually has a low steady idle, but seems to idle from normal to higher and back down again. Does anyone have a clue and a solution? Thank you.

Can a 150cc scooter seat be replaced with a type of seat that is commonly found on a touring style 250cc scooter? As in the picture example Attachments:

Has anyone built or purchased a trailer or cart that can be added on to the scooter like a bicycle covered trailer. Please list any pictures or the trailer you may have. If anyone has built a trailer, what is needed as far as the axles and wheels? Thank you.

Can a malfunctioning vacuum petcock keep fuel from supplying the carburetor? Or can a malfunctioning petcock only flood a carburetor? Or can a malfunctioning vacuum petcock do both... flood or starve a carburetor? I do not seem to be getting fuel supply to the carburetor. The fuel filter is clean so i can only assume the next step in line to the carburetor is the vacuum petcock. How hard would it be to change out the vacuum petcock to a manual petcock. Thank you.

What problem/s would make a scooter to be hard to start in the cold but start decently when it is warm?

If .05 is too tight, why would i adjust it to .08? Wouldn't that make it extremely tight. Or is it .03 that would be tight? Please explain. Thank you.
