My scooter will not start by electric start first thing in the morning or if it has been sitting for long periods.
When I try to use the electric start, it seems as if it is not firing, just turning over.
It will start by kick start but only after I kick it hard about 20 times. Then after it gets started and drives for a while it will start up pretty easily by electric start.
All lights work. headlight, turn signals, taillight, display cluster lights etc...
I have check my spark plug and it sparks very good. I have check my fuel by sucking on my vacuum hose and fuel dispenses and shuts off after I quit sucking on the vacuum line.
Changed the electric choke out with another one I had on another scooter and it seems to make not difference. I do not know how to really check the electric choke so I am assuming it and the replacement works.
I checked the intake manifold and vacuum line nipple, both do not have any clog issues or air leaks around the gaskets. I am at a loss.
A few weeks ago, the scooter would start up just fine with the electric start after a few pushes of the button.
Is there anything else I need to check/replace that anyone can think of?

Lets find out if it is lack of fuel when COLD. Crank it over like you do with the electric start and stop after 2 hits on the elcetric start. Then take the plug out and see if it is wet or dry. A. If it is wet then the plug is not fireing. B. If it is Dry then no fuel is being sucked in Get back on the results so we know where to go next, Electrical or Fuel Delivery when cold. Alleyoop

[replyingto=clyffcarlock]clyffcarlock[/replyingto]Questions:
how long would you consider the scooter being "cold" to check the spark plug and gas usage?
Why would the sparkplug not fire in the cylinder when it did outside when I checked it against a frame bolt?
Why would the gas not flow to the cylinder when cold, if it flowed when I sucked on the vacuum line and it flowed and stopped when I quit?
2063 Miles. I adjusted the values about 4 months ago.

I had similar starting problems previously and I had to replace my battery. It still gave spark but wouldn't hold a good charge for more than a few days. You might want to try charging the battery or jumping it to see if starts right away. If so, could be time for a new battery.

[replyingto=natetheokay]natetheokay[/replyingto]i would maybe suspect that but it should'nt be that hard to kickstart.

I will check the battery with my multimeter later.
Yes it is very hard to start when cold. (cold as in not started that day or sitting for a while after not running, not cold as in temperature) I literally have to kick it about 20 times before it starts. When it runs for awhile and is good and warm, it seems to start with the electric start just fine.
If I leave it sitting for an hour+ I will have to kick it again, but only about +/- 5 times then it starts.

Your choke is malfunctioning. Try giving the the throttle a tiny twist when starting see if that helps.

Alleyoop Do the above tests ? And yes COLD means after the MOTOR HAS COOLED down say at least an hour. Then try to start it and after a few trys without starting take the plug out and answer the questions above. You have to do some tests to find what the problem is if you do not then it is JUST GUESSING what may abe causing the problem. The way you explain it that the problem is only WHEN the scoot has not been started say over an hour(WHICH MEANS THE MOTOR IS COLD). Now that could be several things the ENRICHER is not working and or the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE needs to be adjusted. But we at this time do NOT KNOW if when COLD it is getting TO MUCH FUEL OR NOT ENOUGH FUEL and the tests above will tell what the motor needs to start easier when cold. Alleyoop
