I have guesstimated it is a safety factor in case the battery cables are hooked up wrong.

Looks really nice! I might buy one... Looking forward to images and videos when it's mounted so we can see how it fits and sounds. If you could make a vid with both the db-killer on and off it would be great! I second the with and without db killer idea. Really interested to hear the difference

Just purchased some Pirelli SL26 tires for my 150cc scoot, will let you know what they feel like compared to the Kendas that are on it now. They will be on after the holiday weekend. Also mine are both the same size 130/60-13. They are reinforced so the speed rating is way higher than others, although I am never going to get 92 mph on this thing!

I would agre 250-300 is reasonable. You will need new tires and a quality set is going to be 60-100 bucks as it is.

Everything is working on my new scoot. However I have noticed that lately at stops the throttle is not letting off all the way. To gauge how much, I stopped at a light then released the brakes without giving any twist to the throttle. It took me up to 12 miles per hour. Is the linkage sticking at the carb or do you think I have another problem? It does not happen every time and sometimes if I rev the throttle it corrects it. Thanks gang

There Is a good thread on this board about that very subject of changing tires. If you look for that I bet you will get all the answers you need to make your decision to tackle it yourself or go to a shop. In a nutshell, my choice was to pay the shop to do it. I don't think I would need to change tires that often with my riding style and limited riding season here in Maine. I also do not have the proper tools or the desire to mess with that aspect of it. Everyone is different tho.

My new scoot

I took the good advice. I ordered two new Pirelli tires and modern valve stems. After my initial 15 mile ride I confirmed the tires are in fact no good. You can tell the front tire was not off the ground while stored. Feels like a flat spot that makes the front end jiggle up and down as you go down the road. Rear tire was off the ground on the center stand, but with age and the hazardous valve stem it is not staying. I never mismatch tires anyhow. Going to my local shop to get them swapped before I ride again. Killing me to stay put with the great weather but it beats being in ICU or worse....lol

Hi gang. My scoot needs new tires, the valve stems are the type that no one trusts and the tires apparently developed flat spots in storage during its 7 year slumber in storage lol.
Mine are 130/60-13 front and rear so that limits me. I am down to 2 brands and would appreciate some input from other 150cc size owners. They are the Pirelli SL 26 $55 each or the Avon AM63 Viper at $42 each. Avon has the price advantage of $13 less per tire, both would be free shipping after adding the good quality valve stems.
thank you all.

No, the same graphics are on the side panels. Just wanted a cleaner front. Here is the sticker...

Hairdryer trick worked perfectly. Now there's just a faint ghost outline of the graphics left over on the front faring. It actually looks kind of cool so I'm going to leave it as is. I used the same method to remove the powersports sticker from the original dealer. The same writing that was on the front faring is on each side panel behind the seat. For now I'm going to leave it be. I will remove it later if I decide I don't like it. Thanks again, guys!
