You just need to make sure the flywheel is aligned at the "T" mark. Remove valve cover Remove chain tensioner Remove rocker arm assembly. Remove the cam. Work the chain back on the sprocket. You can use a long screw driver, or a coat hanger. Then, put the cam, and rocker arms back on. Make sure the cam is aligned at TDC position. Put the chain tensioner back on, and the valve cover. And you are done.

Don't take the jug off. You will have to hone the cylinder if you separate the piston from the cylinder. Honestly, the chain probably just slipped off the sprocket, and you can work it back on there by just removing the cam. You can see if the sprocket is damaged by flashlight.

Man, I always have thought that spark plugs either worked, or they didn't. I bought some brand new plugs from the local auto parts store. Now, not only does it start up instantly, it will start with the orange CDI installed. I'm still going to get the CDI from John next Friday, but I learned something. I also ordered some nice plugs. An Iridium one, and one of those 3 electrode ones.

I did have to file the case a bit. The two sides were off set some. I had to smooth it out some to get it to fit.

My cylinder looks exactly like the Taida.

I had the exact same problem with a main jet that was too large. I would almost guarantee that is it. I accidentally put a 110 in a 50cc with a 52mm BBK. Acceleration was good, until I got to 15 mph, then it would stutter and jerk.

Yeah, it's 22.5, or 23. I did not know that it should match. So, I can go bigger?

If you want to get a bigger carb, you would also need bigger ports/valves, and matching free flow exhaust to get advantage of the modification, without those mods you would just waste fuel. That's the thing, 52mm is the absolute largest bore you can put on a 139qmb. The valves and ports are huge, and made for the 52 mm. I noticed that Scrappy's includes a 24mm carb with their big bore heads they sell, and Hoca makes a 26mm carb for a 139qmb big bore. I may try it. I dunno.

Now I am scared I have damaged my crankshaft. I do not have torque wrenches. I am a backyard warrior. I suppose I need to get some, but where do I find the information on proper torque settings for clutch and variator nuts on Chinese 50cc scoots? I just set my impact on the lowest torque setting, which is "1", it goes to 3. That has always held the nut on.

BBK Carb ?

Hi y'all!
I installed a Hoca 52mm BBK. It runs great, but I have some questions about my carb. I have a 20mm carb. Do I need to go to the 24? And, can I just use a stock 24 that is made for the 150cc? Will the 150cc manifold fit on my head? Do the bolt holes match? A 24mm carb made for a 50 is $100, and a 24mm carb made for a 150 is $30, what is the difference?

Yes, good stuff from Piston Guy! Just holding the Hoca cylinder in my hand, and comparing it to the cheap cylinder, the thickness of the cylinder is obvious. The material is superior, also. Those Taida BBK'S look good.
Does Taida make stuff for 50cc scoots? I looked and looked, and could not find any, so I went with Hoca. Piston Guy, what is your experience with Hoca? Do you like their stuff?

I installed a Hoca 52mm BBK on my 50cc, with the Hoca head. It's awesome. I've never used Taida, but I have one of their high torque starters. I highly recommend Hoca. My scooter is crazy quick now. It really is remarkable. There is a huge difference between the cheap BBK, and the Hoca. I would guess Taida is very similar.

Personally I see nothing wrong with *loosening* a variator nut with an impact even if you have the "right" tools. Isn't it only tighening that we should not to do? I am scared of not getting the nut on tight enough. I hand tightened them once, and my clutch came off.
