Ramblinman...You should probably get some new gaskets, and re-torque the top end. That should stop the leaking.

ramblinman ...I'm glad you found the problem and it should last for a little while with that "gasket goop" on it. You really should get a proper gasket set for it. That stuff isn't really meant for cylinder base gasket or head gasket material. Usually if i am forced to re-use a gasket, I spray it with several coats of copper seal gasket paint. That stuff works pretty good and it's cheap. The factory in China turns out thousands of these engines a month and occasionally one goes out with the rings lined up. It doesn't happen often because they "bench run" these things before they go out, but it does happen.......

Update 2....The company finally contacted me and told me to return the piston kit for a refund (still waiting for the refund). I really just wanted them to send the right one......Oh well.....

Update on the piston. I went to another site and apparently this is meant for an air-cooled cg250. If anyone needs this kit, Just let me know. It's a new piston, wrist pin, rings, and the wrist pin clips also.

dmartin95...I tried that and they don't list any. The only thing that looks similar is a GY6 big bore piston, but they don't sell them on that site. O.E.M. parts only. Thanks for the advice brother.

I received the parts for my Roketa yesterday and everything looked fine until i opened the box with my piston in it. What i ordered was a 69mm Linhai piston kit and what i got was a 66mm piston that i don't recognize. Does anyone know what engine this is for? It doesn't look like a cfmoto 250 or anything 2-stroke. I have been inside quite a few engines before and i don't recognize this at all.The company i ordered this from isn't willing to make it right ( I don't think that they speak any English), so i will need to buy the right piston kit for my application. In the mean time i would like to find out what this fits in the event that i can trade, or sell this to someone that needs it. The new piston (66mm on top,52mm pin length,38mm height on the pin side) Another view of it And beside my old junk piston

gjb1969 Welcome to the site. I also have a Linhai Powered scoot. These things are known to be quite durable, but they require more maintenance than the japanese scooters. Stay on top of that and you will be fine.

steven250 Hi Steven. Welcome to the site. I have a Roketa 250, and it holds about a quart and 1/4 of oil. I hope that helps :-)

ramblinman On these chinese scoots, it could be one or more things causing the problem. A compression check is a good idea. At least when you eliminate causes one by one it will get you closer to the problem. Just be patient, you will find it.

ramblinman I live in Texas, and if i were closer to you i would work on it for free. I have been working on my own bikes for 30+ years........It sounds like the intake manifold has lost the seal, or it may have a crack in the rubber part of it. Take it off and look at it very closely. you may find the problem there.
