Well it's 32 right now and its supposed to get up to 60 or so today. I too will have a cup of coffee or two and then I'm heading out for a 70 mile round trip ride with a 2000ft elevation climb to go check my friends belt on his Harley. The leaves will be changing now it should be a very nice ride

Now I'm not suggesting anyone should ride on icy roads but beyond that a motorcycle/scooter is an all weather vehicle. It's astonishing to me how many people riding think that wet roads are too dangerous. The reality is if you can't ride in the wet you might seriously think about whether you should be riding at all. I guess to each his own but with just a bit of gear you can stay dry in the rain. I wear the same riding suit everyday and I arrive at my destinations dry whether its pouring rain or not. Bikes are designed for all but icy conditions and modern tires do a very good job of sticking in the rain. Any way it is nice to see at least some who are game rain or shine.

Your idle jet is probably too big 3000 rpms for idle is twice what it should be. Is the free play on the throttle cable properly set? Should be about a 1/4" of play... Check the throttle cable first

Tires

Because tires don't go bad in a year it takes longer. I actually do replace my tires every year because I ride the bike and they wear out. I have had some bikes where I replaced the rear tire twice a year. Why don't you ride your bike enough to wear out your tires in a year? I'm pretty sure rocky rides his bike enough to were he too wears out the tires in a year... Best practice (aka the logical thing to do) says tires have a usable life of 5 years why replace them sooner? Yes for mounting purposes the fresher the better but in use it is different. The logic you are following is argumentative logic designed to win arguments but the reality is far from your logic of absolutes. It's ok to be wrong and admit it real men do it when necessary.
