So it wouldn't damage the stator?
How could the setup overcharge if each regulator is outputting correct voltage?

So bear with me as this just a silly idea but I was wondering if it would work while I'm waiting for the proper 3-phase regulator on the slow boat from China.
I have a LC gy6 (2006 CPI GTR 150cc) with a 3phase stator. The only wires from the stator are the 3 yellow AC wires. Could I connect each yellow wire to a seperate little regulator(I have 3 of those square little 4 pin regulators sitting around) and feed the red wires out to the battery. Would thos setup work to charge the battery?
Craziness I know but I was just wondering.

How is it possible for the engine to run 1000 miles with a DC stator and ac cdi?

Thats interesting because the hard starting engine came new in box with what you indicate as a dc stator but with an AC CDI. Ran fine for 1000miles. This chinese stuff is so bizarro!
I plugged the used stator into the cdi that came new with this dc stator and the scooter is running like a top!

Ok, so i haven't been able to get my 150cc gyg engine to start. Believe me when i say i had thoroughly cleaned the carb, replaced cdi, replaced coil, coil wire and spark plug boot. Voltages all tested properly. Grounds checked and cleaned. Plug would spark when touching engine but when screwed into head the engine just wouldn't fire. Clean tank, petcock working properly, float operating properly.
I have a blown up gy6 that I decided to swap the stator into my gy6 just to see. Both are ac engines. I pulled both stators and compared them and found a difference. The stator from the engine that wouldn't fire had the green wire attached properly. The stator i was swapping onto the engine had the green wire attached as well as a wire from a winding soldered to the ground tab.
The second stator with 2 wires on the ground tab bolted in and the engine fired right up like there was never a pproblem.
Why would one stator have a winding wire attached to the ground tab and another stator only have the green wire attached?

My issue was not the cable but the circular, tabbed plate that spins with the wheel and engaged the speedo gear that the cable plugged into. The axle needs to slide out to take this plate out. If it is installed incorrectly, tightening the axle nut bends the tabs so they don't engage the speedo gearing. You see slight movement on the odometer from the slight friction the tabs generate from sliding against the speedo gearing. If the speedo cable turns on both ends and is good then this plate on the axle must be bent.

I did not take a pic when I fixed the speedo. It's a single bolt to loosen on the front wheel and if you have the tool kit the wrench is there.

I have this scoot. Had the same speedo problem. When i pulled front wheel off to look at the speedo gear, the tabs that catch the speedo gearing were bent in.
I just used a flat head screwdriver and bent the tabs back out. Careful when installing or you will bend the tabs back in when you tighten the axle nut.
