OK all of you wonder what the winter is going to be like this season, it's the annual always trustworthy JR Persimmon Seed forecast, always correct unlike other spring or no spring forecasters!
So now in case you don't know what or how the persimmon seed can tell you the winter forecast here is where to read up from another always trustworthy source:
www.farmersalmanac.com/blog/2007/08/31/winter-and-the-persimmon-seed/
So today I went out to check on my crop of persimmons, got a bumper crop this year and we've had two small frosts and the weather report says low of 28F Tuesday night so that will be enough cold on them to take the old pucker factor out. I've over my 5 acres have 56 persimmon tress all native and lots of the female ones which put the fruit out. Don't have to worry about the critters getting them all before I get what I want.
Here is how good they look this year:
The trees are loaded:
Some of the limbs are so loaded they are sagging almost to the ground:
Going to make some real goodies this year! I have 3 pecan trees that I'm picking up pecans everyday now for all the nuts I need for my recipes.

Ok I've got off subject and kept you in suspense long enough! Found plenty of seeds off of the driveway and got out the old razor knife to split them down the middle:
And the for the final result?
Spoons! Lots of Spoons! Not one fork for mild weather, and one knife! Get your shovels out and snow blowers ready snows a coming!

Also take note folks that the photo if it is too large is automatically resized by a code put in this forum. But if you read the blue type above the picture if you click on the picture it will go back to it's original size for you to look at, click again and it down-sizes. This helps people with smaller screens and slower internet service.
Only on your signatures is your photo changed to the banner saying it is too big. Signature photos are limited to 150px in height.

Here's a twist? www.scootdawg.net/showthread.php?t=53784The admin is clearly saying you can delete your own posts but not a thread, it would be deleting other's material. Now doesn't that just take the cake! True and untrue. You can edit the original post and replace the content with "Deleted". It has no effect on other's material if you do it that way. Now if ADMIN deletes the original post then the software deletes it all. Jim What I was meaning Jim is if his software is like most one can delete any post they make in a thread. He clearly stated you can delete your post but not a thread you start. A post is just you making a post in any thread.
On most software if you open a new thread then the only way that thread can be deleted by just a member that made the thread is if you hurry before anyone makes a reply to the thread, deleting the very first post will also delete the thread. But if anyone posts on a thread then you can only delete the posts you made, the thread will remain, you can also modify the posts including your original thread title.
On this software I can delete your first post yet leave the thread or delete the entire thread, it gives me a choice.
Also for him to restore your posts he more than likely had to go to his software support people and ask for it to be restored, most software companies do not give backup powers to forum admins?

... The comments are property of their posters ...All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners... will be held responsible for the content of any message. ...Nothing in there about them owning or taking ownership of a person's postings. Legally, for over 30 years, you hold the copyright for what you write. Legally, for over 30 years, you have licensed your posting for the use by forum All posters should know that anything they post on the Internet cannot be taken back.
Again not so. You have given permission for the forum to use "your" material as long as the material is on the forum. Should you choose to leave and remove your material then they no longer have that right. Since forums with the software let you post they also let you delete, edit, change etc.
Let's also not forget the owner of the forum that Jim is questioning uses a free software, he owns nothing. By the TOS of the software he's using he is in violation IMO. Line 14 of the software clearly states the material belongs to the poster. It's like anything else you own, if you own it it's your right to do what you want and not one place in the TOS says you can't delete your material and the forum admin has the right to re-post something that doesn't belong to him? Lets no forget that when you agree to the TOS you "give" permission for them to use it as they see fit as long as it is on the forum. If they want to keep the material then they should tell you in the TOS that it will forever belong to them and you cannot delete it once you post it. They clearly do not say this in the TOS.
That would be like saying if I buy a car and I don't like it and the original seller telling me I can't get rid of it?

And itdhpp, while I agree that it wasn't nice if Jim deleted helpful diagnostic tech posts, but the admin restoring all his posts was less nice yet. Esp the way he went about it, behind Jim's back and blocking him. Which was the bigger "eh-hem" move there, itdhpp? I guess it depends on the fine print - if the forum terms indicated that submissions of anything otherwise non-copyrighted do not become part of the 'public domain' of that forum, I guess it goes both ways. I wouldn't expect the owner of a forum to gather an individuals posts, publish a book and keep all the money... but I'd think putting media back in its original context, should a member decide to take their ball and go home, would be legit. I'm an admin in a message board for large automobiles and that's always how we handle such situations. Maybe I should re-read our fine print... lol
That might be a good suggestion and while I agree that a person deleting material especially if it deals with specific things in helping fix or resolve a problem can be very interrupting it is their right IMO according to the TOS in most cases. You give, you take away.
The only way I know of stopping it to make the forum where one can't delete any posts even if they can delete their membership. Most software can be modified to do just such.

I'm sorry but neither of your link references support your conclusion? The first one clearly states that the material belongs to the creator and the forum has the right to edit, etc. but it mentions nothing about material that you own and then remove it as in Jim's case?
Also this forum deals with UK copyright a whole different animal. Also this thread is just an opinion and in several places the responding admin makes this statement:
The last link is a Viabullentin software forum just like the one that Jim was posting on, it has the same TOS and the one you mentioned. It would seem that for 30 years you have the wrong conclusion?
Now read line 15 of this forum's software provider's TOS:
www.proboards.com/tos
Even the software provider of the forum you listed has a vague TOS and makes no mention at all who the material belongs too?
phpbbservices.com/phpBB3/ucp.php?mode=terms
So I don't see how you can come to the conclusion you stated?

Windows 8

Well for all the Windows 8 haters there is help: windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/update-from-windows-8-tutorialI downloaded the new 8.1 the other day and it comes with IE11 automatically. I do a lot of code and javascript with this new V5 set up on the forum and until I put on 8.1 the other day I spent a lot of time clearing my browser and cookies to use this forums software. I like the 8.1, it's smoother, faster, and I've not cleared a browser or anything in days now, plus the start button is back. They know they rushed 8 and it has problems so if you have W8 already this upgrade to 8.1 is free at the moment to all W8 users. I highly recommend it. JR

I've done about a hundred miles in one day on my 50cc. It about killed my backside and lower back. I had I take a few days off from scootin after that. I can relate to this myself, even though my 250 is bigger and more comfortable to ride at over 60 years of age I felt the results of 816 miles on a scooter in a 4 day period. I left on Friday morning, got there that evening and came home on Monday. I was tired.

Shouldnt matter. The older ones were worse! It would be a test for any scooter whoever made it. If you say so. I'll say so also. The ride was a test to machine and man. Ever been to DV? Not the coolest place on the planet.
I've made a few long tough trips myself all on a Chinese scooter. Last one was to Dallas and back to visit my grand children a one way trip of 408 miles made in one day on my Roketa 250B. When I arrived in Dallas on that July day it was 106F and I ran this scooter hard from 60 to 70mph. ON the way home on the last trip I ran through rain for the last 100 miles and never had a issue.
I've made this trip 5 times total for a total of over 4k in miles. The scooter has over 12k on it now and I wouldn't hesitate to take it through DV.
