Update: NEXT button by vendor banners. How many times have you been asking about or reading about a certain thing from a certain vendor or someone in a thread said go check out so-in-so which is one of the preferred vendors that are on the banner scroll and had to wait until that vendor's banner appeared before you could click on it and go to their site? Wait and Wait.
Not anymore. While the banners continue to scroll as they should if you want to scroll through them fastly all you have to do now is click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom right side corner of the banner. They will scroll as fast as you can click the button. Reach your desired vendor then as in the past click on the banner and it will go to that vendors web site.

New Participants added. When you click on a thread now you'll a new things called participants. If it is a new thread the NEW icon will be there and the number of participants in the thread is listed as well. If you click on the number of participants a pop up will come up showing each member who has participated in the thread and how many times that member has posted in the thread. Man don't look in the two word game! JR

JR, Does this mean I can paste in a jpeg saved on my hard-drive? Or, must it still be saved on a site like PhotoBucket? Thanks! Leo Yes Leo it must be a link from a host of some sort can even be a image/photo from a net search as long as it is one of the above formats and a link. It doesn't replace the old attachment system.

I guess I really do it wrong I just eat the whole freaking egg. Always fresh from my own chicken farm. My cholesterol and blood pressure are well below worrying levels... Gathered 14 eggs yesterday. Rhode Island Reds and Domineckers.

As all of you have learned the way to insert a photo/image on the new V5 layout is to click on the above image icon in the menu navigation bar and a pop up window appears that allows you to insert your image link that begins with http:// and hit insert image and the photo appears right before you in the normal reply area and as a BBCode if you're using the Quick Reply area. Today I inserted a plugin that allows you to simply paste a image link in your reply and when you finish the post and hit the create thread in the normal reply or the post in the quick reply the photo will automatically appear, no code tags, no insert in the image drop down, just that simple.
Now photos come in a variety of formats and this will work in the four following formats:
jpg
png
gif
bmp
Any photo/image link that ends with one of these formats will work. Also the plugin has a sizing option and I have it set to 480px by 360px so if you put a photo in as big as a barn it will downsize it to this size the same as the image resize code for all of the photos here now. Only thing is you will not be able to click on this and have it go back to the original size.
All photos put in that smaller than 480px By 360px will stay the size they are and will not be changed.
Ok so you may ask what is a photo/image link that works and here is what one would look like:
httv://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l553/dryshave/bike28jpg
Now I changed the p in the http to a v so it would not come up as a photo when I hit create thread. This is a very large photo of a scooter project by a member elsewhere. .
Now I'm going to put the link in correctly and when I hit create thread the image will show up resized from it's original 1024px to the settings I gave above.

Ya just never know what you'll learn next? Hmmm..... Gotta try. Which is quicker and easier -- separating yolk and white over the shell, or finding the bottle off the shelf, sucking up the yolk, squeeze it into a bowl, take the bottle to the sink and wash and put back into the shelf? Find bowl = same Crack eggs = same Put egg shells in bowl = same
Drink soda before test, wash bottle, set bottle by bowl with cracked eggs = lost time
Start separating eggs old fashioned way = lost time Remove egg yolks with plastic bottle = faster than old fashioned way
Throw plastic bottle in trash, get fresh soda from frig and watch old fashioned way finish up = soda bottle winner.

I kind of found this thread kind of eye opening, scooter rant?
I actually found it to be nothing more than being critical of others who own a scooter and do a variety of things on how they ride them. Milk crate, luggage rack, ride for fun, ride to work, etc. = different strokes for different folks and the last time I checked if you're the one who bought, maintains and owns whatever you ride it's your right to use it as you please.
While I might not like or agree with how you do any of the above I wouldn't tell you nor criticize how or what you put on it to ride it.
So while we're on the don't be cheap (and that's what the message is all about) and use a milk crate on a scooter, I'll just post my "pretty" milk crate that I use on my scooter for one thing:
It's got a nice red pillow in the bottom so my pups can be comfortable while riding. I have 3 yorkies and they love to ride, just strap it on the seat, hook their collars with a little chain for safety and ride down the road and watch all the people I pass by get a big hoot out of seeing these dogs.
Could I afford to do better? yep but I don't know, maybe I'm just a redneck too, after all I still do the save a buck on electricity and (gasp) hang out laundry:
I happen to remember a fellow from years back, actually sit in a old time café and drank a cup of coffee with him on several occasions that when he made rounds to check on some of his stores still drove a 1967 Chevy pickup and wore just plain every day working man clothes lots of times.
He built one of the world's largest empires financially that headquarters are located here in Arkansas a state with less population than the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex. His last name was Walton and he would have thought the milk crate was cool.
