well recently I got a free 1980 CM400A 9k miles with (auto transmission??? Huh?) well I tried to start it and no go I changed the oil, oil filter, spark plugs, fuel, and cleaned the carb the out of it because the jets got clogged because it was sitting for about 4 years outside just rotting away. Anyways I did got it started for once and idled just perfectly but when I turned it off it wouldn't start again at all. I tried to test my coild and not sure of I did it right as I set the multimeter to 200 ohms setting I get 02.6 ohms in small wire that powers the coil and then set to 20k ohms on the spark plug wires with cap removed ofcourse I get nothing the number doesn't change it just says 1 :S can the coild be bad?
and Yes I did do the same post in scooterdoc just incase some members that can help only see this forum

I'm using Mobil 1 10w-40 motorcycle Oil changed 1 month ago ago and new NGK spark plug and coil I also inspected clutch plates and I didn't see any way however the outside edges of the clucth plates are turning from yellow to brownish burned color. Does that color change indicate worn plates? But my original problem has been there ever since I bought it. I tried running on highway speeds once but I noticed i was giving to much strain to the engine because it barely head 160 miles and I think that is still break-in period for the engine so I immediately turned back

Well My DF250rtc has a CG250 honda engine clone and well it's a 5 speed manual transmission and for some reason even running on 5th gear at full throttle max engine rev at 8500 and can't even reach 40 mph even cars running at streets for 35 mph pass me with ease also engine ask for an upshift to quickly it doesn't even give me room to gain speed from the gear I am on which is very confusing! Not even a second and i have to shift from 2nd to 3rd in less than a second even when having throttle opened slightly. Do I need to change my transmission gears or what can I do to fix this? I Always have to run on 5th gear and at max rpms which are 8500 just to stay at a speed near 35 mph which make me nervous that doing so will reduce my engine life.
