I ended up ordering a replacement bolt/nut, after foolishly running my scooter and taking it for a test drive, which went far from well. Looks like I'll be taking it to someone with experience, because I just cannot work on it without screwing something up.

I do still have the nut, but I will do some research to see if they are the same size, just from the pictures it looks like the same thing to me, though im pretty uneducated about scooters so far.

While trying to adjust my valves (by myself for the first time, not mechanically inclined) the intake nut broke off, and it is not at the right clearance... what can i do, or can i even do anything myself about this problem? I live in Austin TX and have called multiple shops, but none so far will work on my 07 JCL 250cc...

Ok, to start out, I know very little of working on vehicles, that being said I looked up a video on how to adjust the valves on my type of scooter, realized I didn't have the tools, and didn't want to mess my scooter up worse than before, so I did what I thought would be a good "first things first" and put gas in it, and voila, I have a running scooter again. Turns out the fuel gauge is a bit off, and was showing it should have had enough to be fine, alas it was not. Also I made a trip to a local motorcycle repair shop, which happened to have my exact solenoid in stock, so I bought that, and when the rain lets up, I wont have to hot wire it anymore. I hope this post of slight ignorance is for the greater good. So far in my experience, it is much more time effective to read about the problems being experienced before you start getting your hands dirty, just in my opinion.

New problem, throttling very slow at first is killing my scooter, whereas throttling more aggressively seems to work, so long as i keep pushing it. Attaching 2 videos to demonstrate. I should also note currently I am starting my scooter my touching the solenoid terminals with a screwdriver. I assure you these links are safe btw Low throttleHigh throttle

Seems I have found the problem, wish i had found the thread before taking my scooter all apart. Touching the solenoid connections made it turn over like a charm, so it should probably just be the yellow start button/trigger, or whatever it is called. So until i go get the part ill just use a screwdriver to start it!

My scooter at the momentOnly thing i could find with a 20 amp fuseFuse was fine, and there was an extra, switched them out and tried it out just for the of it, didnt work. Ive checked just about every wired connection to make sure they were all secure and I still have had no luck. I read a warning sticker by the starter that says if you try to start it with the kill switch the wrong way it could damage it, i dont remember doing that, but could that have been the problem if i accidently did?

Ok, I will report back to you in the morning, no light and shady apartment parking lot kinda forces me to wait to really get into it. Thanks for the help so far!

The inline fuse that I had for the cigarette lighter, not any that was in the scooter prior. Also I have yet to see any fuses besides the 15 amp that is right by the battery all by itself. And yes, after looking at everything I know it is the Linhai motor.

I bought this scooter Yesterday from craigslist, great condition, rode it for around 2 hours and found 0 problems, today I was installing a cigarette lighter in the glove box to charge my phone, i was dumb and didn't test that it worked before i put the lower panel back on, and when it ended up not working i pulled the wire/fuse out around the front wheel to work on it, and I'm guessing I pulled the electronic ignition loose, or something of that sort. All the power works, it just wont click or anything to try to start. Could this be the problem, and how much work would it be to look at the ignition?
