Normally I get BP premium. It has worked well for me but I needed to save a few cents

I decided to run 87 octane gas this tank... I have felt no adverse effects at all.

Word of advice... when replacing the headlight bulb on the ATM50 TaoTao, make sure the socket is in correctly... mine was upside down and my low beam was shining up into the trees. Flipped it and now she it lighting up the road beautifully.

Actually my speedo is only off 4mph at an indicated 45-46mph when I use my GPS. When I was doing an indicated 45-46mph on my speedometer the gps said 41-42mph with 8 satellites. On the flat road I use, it is 35mph and I catch and pass traffic with ease if I want to. I pulled off of my road onto that road one day as a guy passed by me on his scooter, he was riding in the bicycle lane. When I got on the road I caught him and passed him effortlessly. I raced a guy on a 150cc with a scooter frame about the same size as mine and though I didn't win, he didn't win by much and we went for about a mile... the point is, he didn't lose me. My scooter just doesn't take off fast, I believe if I can get it to take off faster I won't need to do anything else to it. As I have said, I am 5'10" and 195lbs or slightly lighter but over 190. I am on my way back to 175lbs. Once there, I may not need a BBK. This IS a great running scooter and I am very happy with no complaints.

This is what it looked like when I was going down that hill and let off because it was revving so high

Hadn't started the scooter in a few days and it was a little rough to start but I got it going. It's been pretty cool overnight here in NC. Well, I got my new BA20D headlight and it fit!!! Still only 35/35w but now its a blue coated quartz halogen bulb and it's much whiter. As you can see in the pic, even in the daylight you can see the color and brightness difference. The old bulb is on the left and the new is on the right. Both on low beam.

Well my headlight bulbs came in... wrong bulbs so I ordered what I hope will be the correct bulb and it should be here soon. I took the scooter down a pretty good down hill road the other day, first time since putting the CDI and coil on and lets just say I wish I had the gps going, the speedometer needle was well past where it should ever go. It was actually well past my turn signal indicators. I have to say I was easily at 60+mph and revving really high so I let off. I was in a tuck and the air was cool so I am sure that helped. Next time I will GPS it.

I try to keep the scooter covered when I can... like now, it's raining so she is loosely wrapped in plastic to keep her dry. I tried to look for the marking to see if it was a secret 60 or whatever it is but could not find it to save my life. The sales person at the place I bought it from said they stopped doing the secret 60's a few years back... Idk, maybe, but I know it has a lot of thump and pressure coming out of the exhaust and it is way faster than my 2010 TaoTao I had.
I will most likely do the 50mm BBK AND the NCY exhaust at the same time... the exhaust so it will sound less uncool and improve the looks. Looking at $250 or so. I am ok with that if it will move off the line much quicker. I know already I can hold the front brake and open the throttle wide and spin the back tire with ease on a dusty driveway. Well, we will see what happens.

Like I said... I have a performance variator already... was just looking at the trans kit which has one also. So bang for the buck just spend the $99 on the BBK huh? Sounds like fun. Now will this help it take off faster?

Do the work, get a mechanics lean on the scooter, save all your receipts for the work you do to it to make it road worthy. If the insurance company wants it then they will owe you money for the work you did, if not, then you can get a title in your name because of the lien. At least I think that's how it works... worth looking into though.

Well, I am trying to decided what my next purchase should be for the scooter. It is running remarkably well, doesn't stall at all anymore and pulls pretty good. It only has about 300 miles on it. Top speed is satisfactory to me but I still want it to take off much quicker. So, I have a question, what should my next purchase be? I have the coil and CDI, the NGK, the Keihin, the racing variator, the clutch springs so I will list a few things I have in mind and hopefully someone will chime in as to what would be the best idea on my next, single purchase... NCY Exhaust - $149 Performance transmission kit (NCY, Clutch, springs, Bell, Variator, rollers, Drive faces [clutch and variator]) - $149 Kevlar Belt - $12 Final drive gears - $? 50mm BBK (w/# jet, 23mm valves and A9 cam) - $99 Intake from carb to head - $20 Air filter - $?
