howdy,
in regard to the glare. I was recently looking for something to help with the fogging up I find so difficult to prevent. I found an anti-fog shield which also darkens in the sunlight. that seems to really help as an additional sunscreen to my drop down sunshade built into the helmet itself. the two combined would certainly help when riding directly into the sun at morning or evening. this shield has a sticky material around the outside and when applied is slightly spaced out from the original which is what is supposed to help with the fogging. it should work similarly to a pin-lock system.
check it out at your local cycle supply or dealer.

howdy, yup, i'm looking toward the garage as we speak. weather is good here yesterday and today so got a couple hundred miles on it. the new rear tire needs to be balanced which is scheduled for Monday. they are doing the r and r and balance for 30 bucks and it's a scooter so that's not so bad

howdy, how are you doing with the start issues. if the starter is turning the engine, then what is said above may be applicable. that is, the fuel pick-up lines disintegrate from ethanol and allow air to get into the fuel system. fuel injected engines do NOT like air in the system. the result might be as you indicated, hard or no start and or back-firing etc. the valves are not likely to be the problem though you might have some kind of misfire since the plug wire end is also known to be a problem. I believe they just have a screw attachment that connects the angled part that attaches to the top of the plug. that part malfunctioning will allow a misfire condition.

howdy, this reliability is important to me since being stuck somewhere for me could be dangerous. kymco, sym and now piaggio, seems bullet proof and have been totally reliable now more than 25,000 miles.

howdy and congrats on the burgman. I have found that I need no battery maintainance since I apparently ride far enough and often enough to keep everything up to snuff. if I was riding less I would be conscious of small differences such as riding on low beam during the daytime, letting off on the brake after stopping, not using the turn signals if there is no-body nearby to be affected. in other words minimize use of electrical items. the other option is as I do, occasionally take a longer ride just , as my grandmother might have said, "on account of because". that might charge things up and warm up the oil which would help drive moisture out of the crankcase. it would also keep the brake discs and rotors in better shape etc. and be fun?

howdy, yup, nice scoot. I had an 81 so know that the 82 is a 4 banger rather than 6 but the extra two would be totally un-needed anyway---- I just looked at an 83 and found that the pegs have magically immigrated back about 4 inches further than my leg bends--- just head out and get high gear then engage the magical friction cruise control(on mine anyway)and relax und vatch the scenery blinkin' bye.
