I have this scooter which at first would not start. I change the spark plug, adjusted the valves to .004 and cleaned the carb / adjusted the carb to 2 turns out. I put fresh gas 91 into the scooter. The trouble I'm having is getting the scooter to stay running. when it does run it idles for the short time no longer then about 5 minutes, the idle goes really high then really low like its about to die out. It does this idle like I said for about 5 minutes before dying out. also I tried riding it and the rpms would go up when coming into a stop. I would let off the gas and it felt as it was not slowing down and one point felt like it was lungeing. any help or advice would help thanks.

[replyingto=skuttadawg]skuttadawg[/replyingto]Okay, I did not remove the mixture / air screw I left it set to what someone had adjusted it to couple of months ago. when I did clean the carbs I did remove the two jets and they were dirty. what is the mods. I replaced the air tubing and vacuum hoses. when I did the valves it was cold. I set the valves to a little loose .004 to a tight .005.

I have 2007 150cc Chinese scooter, and I recently cleaned the carbs, and adjusted my valves. As for the carbs I did not mess with the mixture screw. and as for the valves I adjusted them cause my scooter would crank crank crank and crank then finally start. As for the valves at top dead center I can not even get the gauge .001 in between the spring and valves on both. I set the valves to about a .004 to a very tight .005. now the scooter starts fine no problems and I have more power until it gets warmed up and the it bogs out at take off. once I get going its fine. its just taking off after the scooter warms up it bogs out. can someone please help me.

[replyingto=scootnwinn]scootnwinn[/replyingto]No I don't have a multimeter. now that you said take the cable off, I have done several times after charging the battery and the next morning hooking it back up and the scooter will start most of the time pretty easy.

I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME TO FIGURE OUT THIS SCOOTER. THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS THE SCOOTER IS VERY HARD TO START WHEN ITS COLD, UNLESS I PUT A CHARGER ON IT THEN ITS STARTS MOST OF THE TIME EASY. ONCE THE SCOOTER IS GOING AND WARMED UP IT STARTS RIGHT UP. ALSO THE SCOOTER WON'T IDLE UNTIL ITS WARMED UP. I HAVE REPLACED THE FOLLOWING THINGS: CDI BOX, AUTOMATIC CHOKE, IGNITION COIL / PLUG WIRE, SOLENOID, FUEL PUMP, FUEL LINES AND SPARK PLUG. I ALSO CLEANED THE CARB AND AIR FILTER. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, I'M SO DONE WITH THIS SCOOTER.
