... What I said was only an idiot would make the unfounded statements you made.... The facts are, since after the push of protective gear the rate of deaths is triple. Why? Lawlessness. Lack of proper law enforcement and decent training. Nothing to do with ATGATT.

Paladin - I have to agree with everyone trying to get through to you. You just don't get it.
You also quote a dead guy that never rode a motorcycle. ATGATT is safety equipment. Accidents maim and kill, but safety equipment minimizes the damage. You have far less chance of injury and death with SAFETY GEAR. You can continue to risk your life because of your stubborn hard-headedness, but don't try and convince others to follow you down that high risk, thoughtless route. Again, your logic is crazy. Does not wearing a seat belt prevent accidents? Does not wearing safety shoes prevent something from falling on your foot?

Are you sure thats not photo shopped..lol Seriously? Why would someone take the time to design a picture like this when you can see it on a regular basis at an ER. As long as there are squibs out there riding recklessly and without protection against the elements, will you see wounds like that, and worse.

Hopefully I can reach a few riders so that they can protect their precious feet. How often do you see riders wearing sandals, or even nothing at all? How often do you see an accident scene where the victim's shoes have come off? If you cannot afford decent motorcycle riding boots that offer ankle support, at least look at wearing safety boots. Today safety boots are designed to be worn to the office. If you have to wear formal shoes, then leave them at the office and ride to work and back with proper feet protection. It is not worth losing a limb due to to ignorance or arrogance.

I am glad to see that others agree with my post. I noticed that this is not the first time members have tried to convince others to wear ATGATT. Highly trained riders get taken out. There is a chap on another forum in South Africa that has been down for a few months because someone pulled out in front of him. He is learning to walk again after a 15mph accident where he crushed his pelvis, among other things. He had a novelty helmet on and looks like he took a massive gang beating. Bonneville written off.

I agree with you to a degree, but your logic is, why use any safety equipment, because you believe you won't make a mistake. People all over the world have accidents daily because they either mess up themselves, someone else does, or mechanical failure. The last two are not things that we can control, and therefore we should prepare to the best of our ability for that day. We are not protected as we would be in a cage, nor is skin and flesh abrasion resistant. We have to prepare for our and other peoples errors. If you are confident that you won't have an accident due to you own ability, you certainly cannot speak for the driver that is either drunk, inexperienced, unlicensed, reckless, etc. The warning is for everyone, and if you feel confident that you don't need it, just think of the person that does need the warning that you might convince of the contrary. The rider that rides without ATGATT has obviously not seen the results of serious accidents.

Depending where vehicles are manufactured or who the order is for, by law in America, speedo's have to be as close to 0% error as possible. However, most countries want vehicles with speedo's calibrated below true speed. In South Africa it is law, which is why I drive according to GPS speed. Our traffic department informed me that the GPS is the most accurate way to monitor speeds.

Pics not opening. I don't do it myself. I take the muffler (we call it an exhaust pipe or box) to an exhaust fitment centre, and they charge me minimal, if anything to braise it for me. Sent from my Lumia 1320

That is great... for you.
I assume you ride being aware of your surroundings and ride properly. Unfortunately most riders don't.
We wear ATGATT due to our occasional mistakes, as well as others we share the road with making mistakes. From another 'more mature' member. Sent from my Lumia 1320
