I have a problem with the scooter I finished today. It is leaking gas and a fast rate of 2 drips per second out of the carb overflow tube.
Would this be caused by a faulty petcock? Or possibly a the bowl drain faulty?

I got the second scooter wrapped up today. There were several wires broken or not connected including the ignition harness and one on the coil. I added a magnetic plug for the oil... Picked it up on ebay for ~$10 M12 with 1.5 pitch threads. Also added a phone/gps mount.... And since we plan on taking them on some dirt roads I made a custom mount to mount a hand pump.... The mini morph.

I just removed my intake boot to find that the gasket was broken in 8 pieces. I would imagine that's the problem for not starting. Well there's your problem As far as the feeler gauge... They are only a few bucks ~$4-$10 per set. Worth the investment. Let us know if you get it started.

CHARGING STATUS INSPECTION • Install the fully charged battery; not sure how it will test with a dead battery.... • Connect the voltmeter between the binding posts of the battery. • Start the engine, and accelerate slowly; easure the charging voltage and current. Charging voltage (V) 13.5 ~ 15.5 Charging current (A) 0.5 *Measuring condition: 5000rpm If the voltage is not in the range of the above-specified value, inspect the voltage regulator.

Welcome....
What is the voltage at the battery with the scoot off and then when it is running? If the charging system is working you will have over 12v while the scooter is running..... If I recall ~13.5v-15.5v @ 0.5amp indicating it is charging.
I am sure someone will chime in with more specifics.

I adjusted the exhaust valve and the intake was within spec.
Runs much better!

Thanks for the input. There are several breakin methods and I am no expert but I am using a method that uses heat cycles and involves short WOT.
Currently the RPMs hit 6000.
I will adjust the valves and finish the breakin. And report back....
It is time to start assembling the second scooter.

So I confirmed with GPS that the scooter is only hitting 43mph.
I plan to adjust the valves next but would that impact it the top end speed that much?

I agree with nwhicks21...
If you have a compression gauge check it first as it is easy to do.
Not that it is the same engine by the same concept... I had an old 4 stroke lawn mower that would drain a battery before starting but when running seemed to run just fine. I adjusted the valves and it would fire right up and run great.
But I also believe (I am not a mechanic) that incorrectly adjusted valves can impact your compression test so to be safe check both.

Sustained 55mph... Is that stock? Yeah, that's pretty much stock! ..... I am confused about the ATM150 vs EVO... My reciept says ATM150-A Evo. Anyways, I took my wife's scooter out last night just around the block and I only got 6000 rpm and 45mph; using the gauge on the scooter. I will need to try GPS to confirm but it surely did not feel any faster than 45mph.

I have replaced the valve stems but I have not checked the valves yet but plan to. It runs fine but I have not put all the plastics on because I still need to check the valves and tune the carb.
I have seen several valve adjustment values but need to confirm. I did see a150cc manual in the forum sticky that has the measurements.

That fuel line is toast replace it, let's remember fuel sometimes ignites when it leaks... I figured they may last at least a few months but since I have them all a part for PDI I figured I would replace them. Only a few bucks for piece of mind.
