Because it cost more to order separately. I have this problem with paying more if I don't need to. ScrappyDog list separate flywheels for different stators.

What is the difference in flywheels for 5, 8, and 11 coil stators? I want to order a new stator and a flywheel pulling tool at the same time but I don't know what stator I have and I can't pull the flywheel without the tool. I was considering ordering a 8 coil. but it doesn't matter what stator I get unless I will need to order a new flywheel as well.

The reason I asked, I have had some experience with LED circuits. Some time, when you feel like it, find an area that is very dark. Turn on only your signal and watch the lights. If you can see a very dim flashing, it probably means one one of the LEDs is shorted. That drags the bias down to where the other LEDs can't achieve full brightness. If no lights, then the circuit is open. If you know a good electronic technician, it is very possable he could repair the open circuit. The shorted LED, not likely. Understand, I am speaking from past experience and I have never actually worked on the tail light unit, and I could be all wet, but it may give you another avenue if interested.

msgusaf, I know your last posting was 2 months ago on this thread but I was curious if you found the problem with your right turn signal? Shally

Thanks, I'll let you know how it works out. I have another question; located next to the ignition switch is a internal toggling device that is operated with a key attached to the opposite end of the ignition key. When operated, a metal disc covers the ignition slot. Does this serve any other purpose? I thought it might be a fuel shutoff but it is to far from the gas tank to be practical. Shally

thanks Alleyoop, I will do that ASAP. The problem I have now is I already packed it with a marine grease. I thought the waterproof feature may have some benefit. It has a melting point of 500 but it doesn't show a max operating temp. I may consider leaving this in for a while and keep an eye on it. What do you think?

I recently had to give up my Honda Shadow because my leg would go numb and weak from riding and I couldn't hold it up when waiting at red lights, etc. So I sold the Honda and bought a 2013 Ice Bear Cyclone. Did my own PDI, and set-up. Changed the engine oil, gear oil, and pumped some grease in the differential. took it for a ride ( about got beat to death). Removed both read wheels and had them spin-balanced. One tire was fine but the other took 2 ozs. When I started to install them I noticed a line of grease inside the center panel. I found grease oozing from 2 openings where the gear axle is mounted. I assume they didn't install the seals. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you correct it? i considered wrapping the diff case seam with a strip of neoprene and clamping it in place with a heavy duty hose clamp. Any other suggestions? altho I am fully capable, I don't want to tear the diff apart. I would like to leave that as a last resort. Shally

Scootnwinn is right; I need to start a thread in 3 wheels. I just want to say thanks again for all your help and support. Just wish I could have done more research before I ordered. Even though Motobuys came thru with fast shipment and sending the MCO as advertised, they now ignore my emails and when I called about a hardware problem, they told me to go to a hardware store. Live and learn. Hope to hear from you in three wheel. Shally

[replyingto=scootnwinn]scootnwinn[/replyingto]Scootnwinn, Man, I'm sorry I hijacked this thread; that was not my intention. I'm really new at this and I just wanted to relay my experience with Motobuys, good or bad. I wasn't aware threads are exclusive, I just wanted to join in. Since what I did was apparently wrong, what should I have done?

110 on three wheels? I won't even do that on 4 wheels! I start having angina at 80. I'd never survive on 2 or 3 wheels. That's all for the help and advise. I'll let you know how I do. Now all I need to do is figure out how to post pics ;o Shally

Thanks Dave, I do have "change gear oil" on my list of thing to do but not "grease the diff". Sounds like a good idea so I added it. Any bearing grease or something different? I am slowly getting thru the PDI. I want to get it right. If you have any more suggestions, I'm taking notes. I see your ride is very similar to mine. I have the smaller engine and a few less body panels but very close. so any situations you find, I would appreciate a heads-up?! Since you used to ride bikes, do you find the trike to be more squirrelly or more responsive to movements or road texture? It feels like the front end is loose but I can't find any slop anywhere. I think it has to do with a much smaller wheel. Shally

Thanks Jim, I will check the tires and the tighten the axle nuts ASAP. The vibration was not distracting, just noticeable. It probably is as you say "the nature of the beast". I heard some rattles in the front plastics so I pulled all the plastic off and found several loose screws and missing rubber washers. At least I assumed they were missing since the retainer screws didn't bottom out and the plastic panel was moving under the screws. I removed the rubber washers from the fender assembly and installed them under the panel screws and the rattle is gone. Now I need to find more rubber washers. To DaveC: sorry I miss spelled your name, I try to proof read what I type ( because I miss keys a lot) but I even missed that one. I'll try to do better. By the way, is there supposed to be an assembly manual or a parts list that comes with the trikes? Dan
