Hey guys. I bought a "Fleetwood Series XR-12 - 127cc Motorcycle" from MOTOBUYS.COM I received the bike just fine today and the free stuff they offered came today also. Bike took about 6 days to arrive. I ordered on Thursday got it on the following Wednesday. My question is this. Now I have the bike here I'm scared they will not give me the paperwork to title it and get plates. I sent them an email inquiry but never got a reply. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. Anybody have experience dealing with this company?? I think I will be on pins and needles until I get the papers!!! Thanks!!! Mark Attachments:

Ok fellow riders, this my first time on any forum so please bear with me if I mess up, i do that a lot. I have been riding a Honda Shadow 600 for a few years until I found I couldn't hold it up near as easily when stopped. Found I have a pinched nerve and it makes my leg numb and weak when I ride. To make a long story short, I sold the Honda and ordered a IB Cyclone from Motobuys. It is due to be delivered Wed. 8/14. Since I started reading these forums, I feel I should have ordered from Rapid Jim but you know what they say about Hind Sight?! Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and to let you know that, with my luck, you may be hearing a lot more from me. Shally

Hello DaceC, Thanks for the welcome. I would have kept my Shadow but had no space to store it. Besides, the money is helping pay for my scoot. The Cyclone did arrive Wednesday as promised and the crate was in good condition, Scooter also appeared to be in good condition. So I got crazy, installed wheels, charged battery, did what needed to be done and hit the starter. Engine cranked a few seconds and fired up. pushed out to the street and rode around the neighborhood. Really felt good after reading several horror stories about their 1st start-up. Now I have some questions: I noticed a small shimmy from the front wheel. Seemed to smooth our as I gained some speed ( approximately 25 mph). Reappears as I slow down. All total, I was riding about 3 min. so it was not a fair shake down. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences that they corrected or does this sound normal? Since this is a 2013, does anyone feel it is necessary to remove all the plastic and locktite everything I see? does anyone have any other suggestions about what I should do with this trike? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. once all is done, this will be my 2nd car. Thank you in advance.

If you haven't done so check the tire pressure.
You may also have a rear tire out of balance. Remember you are riding a trike and anything that happens in the rear you will feel up front. Any tire store should be able to spin balance the rear tires for you. A small amount of back and forth (vibration) on a 150 is normal, it is called tank slap, even the Honda and Harley trikes experience it. Nature of the beast. The bigger machines have a steering stablizer on them to reduce it. IB has not seen the need to put it on their 150s or 50s yet.
I would do a shake down on the trike since you got it in a crate. See if any panels move and locktite/tighten the screws that are easy to get at, esp pay attention to the rear fenders.
I would also highly recommend that you pull the cotter pins on the nuts of the rear axels and make sure that the hubs are tight and reinstall the cotter pins. After 20 miles or so recheck the tightness of your lug nuts.
Jim

Thanks Jim, I will check the tires and the tighten the axle nuts ASAP. The vibration was not distracting, just noticeable. It probably is as you say "the nature of the beast". I heard some rattles in the front plastics so I pulled all the plastic off and found several loose screws and missing rubber washers. At least I assumed they were missing since the retainer screws didn't bottom out and the plastic panel was moving under the screws. I removed the rubber washers from the fender assembly and installed them under the panel screws and the rattle is gone. Now I need to find more rubber washers. To DaveC: sorry I miss spelled your name, I try to proof read what I type ( because I miss keys a lot) but I even missed that one. I'll try to do better. By the way, is there supposed to be an assembly manual or a parts list that comes with the trikes? Dan

1. I had the slight shimmy also. a little faster takeoff and there is none
2. No manual, just Jim But there is a pdf file here for the yamaha 250 (same engine)
Enjoy the trike
I assume you changed all the fluids. Chinese engine/rear gear oil is like cooking oil. If not, do it now, and grease the rear diff

Thanks Dave, I do have "change gear oil" on my list of thing to do but not "grease the diff". Sounds like a good idea so I added it. Any bearing grease or something different? I am slowly getting thru the PDI. I want to get it right. If you have any more suggestions, I'm taking notes. I see your ride is very similar to mine. I have the smaller engine and a few less body panels but very close. so any situations you find, I would appreciate a heads-up?! Since you used to ride bikes, do you find the trike to be more squirrelly or more responsive to movements or road texture? It feels like the front end is loose but I can't find any slop anywhere. I think it has to do with a much smaller wheel. Shally
