It is not stainless steel because a magnet will not stick to it. I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I do feel the need to point out that not all grades of stainless steel are 'magnetic'. In fact, most aren't. Ok, my bad. I didn't know that. I only mentioned the magnet because when I had my scooter and taken the exhaust to the muffler shop, the muffler guy said he doesn't think the muffler was metal and tried to stick a magnet on it. He did that because I asked him to weld a bracket onto the muffler so I could mount it onto the muffler bracket. But whatever, like I said earlier, I'm over it. I still have the muffler and if I ever pick up another china scoot, I'll pick up another header and find a way to mount it but my Kymco Super 8 is getting a Two Bros. Racing exhuast that was designed for the Super 8 so it should fit like a glove. I wish Scrappy Dog the best of luck and RapidJim as well.

"I have a simple question, why didn't you return the exhaust? In all your discussion about what happened, you never said they refused to take it back." I never said that they refused to take it back because I didn't ask for a refund. I was impatient and felt I could get it on because I'm a pretty handy guy and I didn't want to pay $15-$20 for the return shipping. "Also, did your classic have rear disc brakes or 2 rear shocks?" This is the description of the exhaust from their website, verbatim: "Short slash cut, shark tip, stainless exhaust system for your short case 125/150. Exhaust canister is 340mm long (under 14in) and would look great on a retro type scoot. Works with both clamp-on and engine tab mounts for single shock systemsLimited introductory rate: $139. rear disc brake and 2 shock models may require slight modifications " My scooter fits this description down to a T. I had a retro scooter with a 150cc short case with a single shock and a rear drum brake. The disclaimer ONLY describes that modifications might occur if I have two shocks and a rear disc brake. The WHOLE description is wrong. It is not stainless steel because a magnet will not stick to it. The total length is 17 inches, not 14 inches. And modification is definitely needed to make it fit. The only reason I bought this exhaust from them was because they were a sponsor of Scootdawg and I wanted to support the people who support the board I use to frequent. I realize that it was MY FAULT that I mangled the header and it wasn't returnable but all I asked was that they change the description of that particular exhaust because it is wrong and I feel it would suck for another community member to plunk down $150 for an something that requires major modification when the description doesn't say they need to UNLESS the scooter has TWO SHOCKS and a REAR DISC BRAKE. I never ever asked for a refund, NEVER. Just a change of the description. "I deal a lot with trikes. The 150cc models are basically a standard GY6, however, standard and performance GY6 exhaust systems will not fit correctly. I know, I have tried it." Did you see fugaziiv's response on reply#63 where he said that they had to do THEIR OWN R&D to make sure a particular exhaust fits BEFORE they sell it to the public? If you look at all of the exhausts from Partsforscooters.com, you'll see that every kit they sell comes with a bracket to aid in installing the muffler and it's probably because of their own R&D that they do so. Obviously, Scrappy Dog doesn't do this. "Yet I didn't come on a forum and make an angry post, a year later," Was my first reply to why I don't shop at Scrappy Dog in anger? It wasn't and I was posting my negative experience with Scrappy Dog and why I don't shop there anymore. That's all! If Scrappy Dog Owner wasn't going to do anything about changing the description on their exhaust, then he shouldn't have chimed in and left it alone. He just made the situation worse by saying what he did. "saying I was taking my business elsewhere, inferring others should do the same"" There are dozens of e-tailers selling scooter equipment so why should people I know and myself spend money at a place where they're going to send you stuff that doesn't work and then you're stuck with the $15-$20 to return it? One last thing RapidJim: Why are you getting your feelings all hurt over this? Is Scrappy Dog Owner your little brother or something?

Ouch Petrol42! I certainly didn't intend for you to get so mad about a part on a scooter that burned to the ground almost a year ago! You had also taken several days to reply to my response, so I didn't think this was something absolutely imperitive to reply to instantaneously. I had thought that Matt at PFS in his posting had answered your question about your Zhen. I'm in contact with Matt about getting one of those exhausts, and also a Zhen scooter so that I can inspect and learn from it. We can't just change listing postings based on one persons testimony that it doesn't work as we've sold 1000's of these exhausts over many years without that complaint. There are many people that do not know the proper method of installing a part, like an exhaust. There is a procedure to putting it on, otherwise it looks like it doesn't fit. Until we get a collection of complaints and/or we actually bring in the specific brand and model and inspect it ourselves, we keep our original posting. My personal experience is that the Zhen was a dual shock model, and I think Matt said that the Zhen was an anomoly B. Anomoly B can fit many standard parts, but some do not, like the exhausts. We also post this in our tech talk page posted on our website. I hope you understand, and you are certainly welcome to call or email us for further resolution and not just public bashing which accomplishes nothing positive. I'd have to say that our return policy is very fair. If the exhaust didn't fit, we have never refused a return and refund on anything non-electrical. I'm curious why this has been brought up almost a year later and with such anger? My intent was to resolve the issue and not to anger, insult, or ignore you. So sorry! "I'm curious why this has been brought up almost a year later and with such anger?" First of all, I wasn't mad but this was all brought up again because of you. I posted my experience on the "Scooter Dealers, The Good and The Bad" on why I don't shop at your place anymore and then you responded with a series of questions, all of which I answered. Once again, to make it clear. You directly asked me a question so that is why this has been brought up again. Btw, I still have the exhaust because I couldn't use it. And i understand that I took a few days to respond and I certainly didn't expect you to respond right away but you went ahead and responded to fugaziiv's post right away while blowing mine off. And I have no idea how you feel fugaziiv's response explains that I had an "Anomaly engine". To me, fugaziiv was explaining what the ZNEN "anomaly engine" that you keep bringing up is and that he just couldn't trust that an exhaust just fits because their suppliers tell them it does and they HAD TO DO THEIR OWN R&D by going to ZNEN to make sure their exhaust fits on this NEW STYLE ENGINE from ZNEN. It looks like Partsforscooters.com is the place to go for GY6 scooter exhausts because of their due diligence. Maybe you keep thinking that I have a ZHEN and not a ZNEN and that's the reason you keep pushing this anomaly engine deal that my scooter clearly didn't have. But whatever dude, your responses always have to do with an "Anomaly Engine" and I'm over it. I haven't bought anything from you guys since my exhaust incident and I along with other people I know won't buy anything from you guys in the future. One last thing. I now own a Kymco Super 8 and this scooter clearly has an anomaly engine like how the transmission case for the final drive gears is totally different than a standard GY6 and like how the ignition pickup coil is located at 5 o'clock instead of 12 o'clock like it is on a standard GY6. My ZNEN did not have an anomaly engine.

I mentioned that I had posted this on ScootDawg when it was still around and I got the same blowoff that time around.
Look at "reply#59", user: scrappydogscooters asks me for some info which I provide in "reply#61 - reply#62" and he still gives me the blowoff.
Had I gotten a response along the lines of "Got it, let me look into some things and I'll get back to you", I would've waited before I gave a response like I did but like I said earlier, it's as if my post was invisible.
The Thread is called "Scooter Dealers, The Good and The Bad" which to me means that I should share my vendor experiences with the community which I am doing.
Who likes to get stiffed $150 because someone bought something from a vendor according to the description and it doesn't work?
Their description of the exhaust I bought from them is not correct and I'm letting the community know not to buy that particular exhaust.
I never rallied for a full on ban on scrappydogscooters to the community. It is my personal choice to take my dollars elsewhere.

Cool Matt. I'd like to get some of those for our warehouse stock. Shoot me an email if you get a chance. Rick This is the reason that I'm NOT going back to ScrappyDog. I provide info on my scooter and they stop answering when the going gets tough, just like the last time they blew me off. It's as if my last post was invisible. And BTW, it's ZNEN, not ZHEN.

I'm having a problem embedding the image. When I figure it out, I'll repost.

I don't have the Znen anymore because it burned to the ground in February but the pic above is my scooter when I still had it. It is pictured with it's stock exhaust.
I don't believe I had an anomaly engine since I replaced my cylinder head with one I bought off Ebay and the stock exhaust still fit. In fact, everything I bought for my scooter had fit without needing any modification. If I had an anomaly engine, I don't believe that all the parts I bought for the scooter would fit. Along with the replacement cylinder head, I had installed a new jug and piston, Dr. Pulley variator, new clutch, transmission gear swap, performance DC DCI and a new carb. Once again, all those parts fit without needing modification.
Also, my Znen used a single shock.
Although I don't have a pic, I do remember checking that I had a standard 157qmj as it was engraved on the engine case.

I was in the market for a performance exhaust for my Znen Classic and ordered one from Scrappy Dog because their website states "Short slash cut, shark tip, stainless exhaust system for your short case 125/150. Exhaust canister is 340mm long (under 14in) and would look great on a retro type scoot. Works with both clamp-on and engine tab mounts for single shock systemsLimited introductory rate"
This description I read was exactly what I was looking for and nowhere did the description state that the exhaust my have to be modified to fit.
Upon receiving the exhaust and trying to install it, the Header was hitting the bottom of the fan shroud and there was no way that I could even bolt it down. Also, the total length of the muffler including the tip is around 17 inches. The 14 inch length is for the canister only but this doesn't help a consumer who is looking for a muffler's overall length to be a particular size.
I emailed them but didn't get a response until 3 days later but leading up to my response from Scrappy Dog, I had posted my problem on ScootDawg when it was still active. It turned into a long ugly thread that you could probably still find as my user name is the same on that site as it is on this one.
In the end, I emailed them and ask that they change the description on their website as it's misleading and modification is definitely required. To this day, the description still reads the same as the quote describing the exhaust that I quoted earlier.
I had read on this forum where someone else had bought an exhaust from Scrappy Dog and his header wouldn't clear the bottom of the engine just like it was doing on mine. He called Scrappy Dog about the problem and asked for a new header and the person from Scrappy Dog told him that all their headers are the same. That means that they have a boatload of these headers that their selling to the public.
I had ordered a few things from Scrappy before my exhaust incident and I was satisfied with them. I should've sent the exhaust back when I found out it didn't fit but I would've had to pay for return shipping. Due to the totally inaccurate description of the exhaust and the description still being the same today, I've since moved on to other vendors for stuff.

Yea I love mine too, use it on car batteries, motorcycle batteries just about anything.. If your having a problem with your battery and it don't come back with a charger/maintainer, it's time to get a new battery.... I was really disappointed when I learned the Battery Tender only maintains and did not charge, and my charger/maintainer was actually cheaper than the Battery Tender, not much but still cheaper.. I'm pretty sure the Battery Tender Jr. is a full on charger. The manufacturer states that the Jr. charges at 0.75 amps and this is a quote from their website: "Complete 4-step charging program (Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode, Float Mode)" I own one and use it on my car more than I do on my scooter and it seems to work great as a charger.

Most motorcycle shocks won't work on a scooter since motorcycle shocks usually have an "Eye" on both ends of the shock where our scooters use an "Eye" on one side and a "U" on the other.
Unless you could find a "U to Eye" adapter, then a motorcycle shock won't work.

Thanks guys for all the replies and I really appreciate your kind gesture urbanmadness.
I tried the twisting of the flywheel while looking through the hole thing but I couldn't find the bolt.
I do realize I need to get the bolt out of there so I ordered a flywheel puller from ebay. Luckily, I do have an impact wrench so as urbanmadness mentioned, I should be able to do this in about 20 minutes.
Once again, thanks for the help.

matter of fact the bold is most likely stuck to the magnet that gos around the stator. So should I be worried if the bolt is stuck to the magnet?

Hello all,
I dropped a bolt behind the flywheel and couldn't get it out. Is there anything I should be concerned about, like the bolt shorting something out?
I rode the scooter around and everything seemed OK but I was wondering if anything like this has happened to anyone else?
Thanks.
