Chevrolet Eco stock tires are low rolling resistance radial tires, maybe they might be of the softer type, since the tire is low profile, and the rim is pretty big.
I have 18k miles on my car, but probably still a good 3-6k miles on my tires before I should worry about replacing them (front), rear tires, like usual, are ok.
Another good point you make, is that the vehicle is very low and small, and may not be seen by other cars. For that reason, it's imperative to choose visible colors. I wanted to choose white or grey, but that would be invisible in a rainstorm on the highway! I probably would want to go for orange.

Yeah, they start production lines about now, with the first batch being released Q3 of '14. The first public batch will be Q3 of '15, since they currently have a waiting list of almost 2000 orders, and more to come!
I hope to still get the $500 initial discount, but first need to get my CC in order, as I also need to pay a grand on taxes, and just paid car insurance, have planned a short vacation and the holidays are coming. This is the time of the year where I usually have the most expenses.

I've had transparent fuel lines before, and replaced them with thick black ones. I don't know what sunrays or uv rays do to gasoline, nor to the fuel lines, so I believe it's better to use the black ones, since they're more made for that kind of stuff.

Nope.
He says the elio is safer than a motorcycle, and it is, because of the rollcage and triple airbag protection. He's not saying riding with a motorcycle is unsafe.

No one says it's unsafe to ride in the rain; just unpleasant. on the other hand, if you do get into an accident, the Elio offers rollcage, and triple airbag protection. to me doesn't look half bad and for florida your right would be alot safer and cheaper with all the rain. i wonder who makes the motor. 30k for tires is a little low maybe if you went as cheap as possible with chinese brand tires but mostly tires for street use have a 50k life and if you go for the top brands you can get 80k and 100k tires now price depending on your connections and skill at searching for a deal of course lol We all know that the 'rated' mileage never equals the real mileage. I have an almost brand new Chevy cruze, tires rated 50K miles. I'm not even at 20k miles and they'll need to be replaced. Even the more the older the car gets (due to alignment issues).

Depends on what you call great mileage! A chain driven bike has an avg between 25k and 50k miles before the chain is totally worn out (when properly taken care for). When leaving the bike rusting in the elements, and not lubricating the chain you might still get double the life of a chain compared to a CVT belt. Belt driven geared bikes usually last 100k miles.
And gas mileage on a CVT is always ~10% lower than chain driven with the same final gear ratio.

Damn, $2000 insurance premium on a 20K car? I have a 19K car and my full coverage with $250 deduct collision is $620 a year. Are you sure it's not every 6 months? In Miami, PIP only is ~$80-100/month, Full coverage can be anywhere between $160-220 per month! Usually with discount if you pay 6 months in full (or $1000-1200 for full coverage, and $500-700 for the basic PIP coverage); however prices this month are ridiculously low compared to last year (this month I paid $720, compared to last year $1000+ for 6 months...

Sorry I guess I am from another time or something , been in too many wrecks and seen to many wrecks from careless cagers that don't care. Lost fellow riders from cagers . What they did on the video does not show the whole story , some of your sane comments I've heard before but with cruser riders instead of rice rocket riders taking the blame . The media and police will show that its those mad max bikers terrorizing and out for blood crap only to put another bad light on us all . Believe what you want , we have that right . The taking care of business I do stand beside , when was the last time you were out for a ride with your buddy and a cager runs him down without even looking were they were going or even care , or your wife ran off the rode and the cager took off ? Am I biased to the bikers , yes possibly but then I've been there and how would you react ? Should the bikers had bashed the dudes head in , no blocking him in and waiting for police to settle it yes ...oh but wait when they tried that he ran them over even more so if he's out for my blood and doesn't care I'm just supposed to let it go? Sorry if a blind cager runs me over for no reason I hope my brothers will chase him down and stop him so the police can take his butt to jail. I think we can't generalize every traffic accident, because as a biker you get ran over by cars. I'm sure when the accident happened, what should have happened is that the bikers would stop and first provide first aid to the wounded biker. They should have treated the driver of the 4 wheels with respect, and call the police, to file a report. If they had handled it with cool heads, instead of hotheads, like the mentality of the writer I'm quoting here, everything would have gone fine with just a ticket, or insurance claim or whatever. However because a few bikers not doing things the right way, other bikers who have kept their heads cool ended up in the accident with him! Treating violence with violence will get you NOWHERE (but in jail, or an early retirement to the next world).

One of the two scooters has a vibration in the steering only when coasting. It doesn't feel like a wheel out of balance but rather a pulsation from the brake rotor. Upon visible inspection it seems to be straight but if I lift the front week and spin it there is one spot that contacts the brake bad. I think this is causing my vibration. I plan to get my dial indicator gauge and see how much it is off but just have not had time. Any suggustions? See if the brake rotor is aligned with the wheel and the brake unit. As long as the rotor is not visibly moving the brake pads left or right while rotating, it's fine. You could either ride around a bit, brake with pulsing brakes (kinda like a fake ABS), and the rotor will straighten over time, or get it treated. But unless the pulsing is hard, I don't think it can do any damage (just a bit annoying). My brake rotor is just fine. Just an out of alignment tire, that seems to seat better with time (it vibrates so much less now).

If you ever rode a reverse trike, which is hugely popular in Miami, then you'd not find this bad looking at all!
And the fact that it goes highway.
For Florida that means, getting everywhere you want, dry, register it as a motorcycle meaning no insurance necessary (though I think I'll take the $240/yr PIP), that's about 1/10th of a car's, and almost triple the gas mileage (of a regular car).
The savings will be gigantic!
Replace my car with this: Initial cost car: $20k Tax + Tag: $2500 Dealer fee: $500 ================ $23.000
Annual cost gas: $1500 (For 10k miles/yr) Insurance: ~$2000 ===================== $3500
Initial cost Elio: $6800, Tax + Tag: $950 Delivery fee: ~$750 ================== ~$8500
Gas price annual: $500 Annual insurance: $250 =================== $750
Annual savings: $2700
Not including maintenance; or tag renewal sticker Estimated tire wear: lifetime of the vehicle (unlike a car that needs tires every ~30k miles).

Well, you've got a small scooter, there's really no place between dash and windscreen on yours. But still, drill a couple of holes on the dash, and install larger speakers in it; and they will sound much better. Although, unless if the mirror speakers use the glass from the mirror to create additional sound (vibrations), worth giving a try, I'd say.
In the dash you could install more mid-range speakers, and under the seat subwoofers. If you don't really care about showing off, then you could benefit from installing a 6-8" sub under the seat, so you will feel the vibrations of the bass as you can hear your music. It'll make your music experience so much more .. orgasmic, especially for women, lol!.. don't know, just had to think of it! lol

I love China bikes! Scoots, motorcycles, I love them all! But I just found a new vehicle, Elio, All american, 3 wheels (reverse trike), caged (with a roof), storage space, 84MPG, 900cc; top speed over 100mph, AC, radio, 3x disc brakes, for $6,8k with possibility of an additional discount! Since Fl always has rain, and is too hot for rain clothes, I think I'd be interested in riding this thing! My Honda VT750 always gives me shoulder aches, so I think this is a good solution to travel cheap; best for the longer rides; besides, my VT750 does 60MPG max, so this thing is actually even better! www.eliomotors.com

A lot of the big brands, actually use a chain in their CVT's, not a belt. I don't know about Suzuki Burgmans, but for instance Nissan uses one in their CVT engines on the Versa (and that's a 1,6-1,8 Liter engine). Personally, I'm not too fond of it... I doubt that the Chinese will make a reliable CVT transmission that can last longer than every 5k miles per belt. On my BMS-260 I only gotten 2,2k miles out of my belt, before it became too thin, and needed replacement. I noticed the CVT used to max out at 45, with 4,5k RPM, and by around 2k miles of riding , that 45 was more like 5k RPM.

Those mirror speakers will barely be able to give you some sizzling brights! Good for when parked perhaps, but forget music while riding. Much better to install them in the dashboard, reflecting the sound on the front windshield if you have one! I used that system for my GPS all the time! My GPS was laying on the dash, between the dash and the inside of the windshield. The windshield would reflect GPS data, and sound. I could hear it clearly when riding upto 35MPH, despite it being only a 1-2watt speaker! And the GPS screen data was reflected (visible at night)...
I wished manufacturers would install scoots with windshields, and small lasers that will project GPS data onto the windshield!
