I am going up pretty steep hills about 35 from slow start and 40- 45 from normal speed.
My rollers are still bad though and I am waiting on getting a clutch spring from lykos soon. Once those are on should be even better.

Most aftermarket cdi's will advance timing a bit even at idle, all are different,,so you will have to turn it down a bit.Wait till its hot,,than adjust it for 1900 or so,,when its cold it may idle very slow and almost stall until warm,,but that's fine. You need to find the sweet spot so it will stay running cold but not idle too fast hot,,follow me? Tom About how long should I let it idle for? when i adjusted it earlier it idled for like 3 mins

I dont think it is the cdi, it runs and idles great. Is it possible for the screw to move to where it idkes higher? if the spring is missing or broke then yes, otherwise i would think no. I dont think the spring is broke, but let me check.

My bike likes to idle high and I use to have trouble keeping the tire from spinning. Then I got new clutch springs so the clutch doesn't engage until it hits a higher rpm. These are different from the Torque spring I'm gonna be givin' you. Now I can even rev my engine without the tire spinning, like a real motorcycle! There's probably a better solution though. I was thinking about them springs. I have a feeling its the idle screw that the issue... at least I hope so. It didn't do this before the new cdi, but i expected to have to adjust something on the carb after i put it on anyway.

Ok so I put in a new cdi and the scoot is running great. My only issue is the idle, and wanting to go when its stopped. I did google it and came up with the idle screw solution.
My problem is I go to adjust it and get it set right but after a mioe ride it wants to idle high again. Around 2800-3k rpms.
Ideas?

Well he is one easy way to check.
If your lights only turn on when the scoot is running it is AC fired. If not it is DC. That one is for an AC fired scoot.

Yeah I thought scrappydog was good on shipping. not for me he isn't. i was going to order 5 feet of 3/16 fuel hose and a fuel filter from him until i got hit with $16 shipping. lol, really? $16 to ship less than 1 pound? no thanks, haven't been back to his site. i don't know how everyone here deals with him. i guess those high shipping fees don't apply to everyone. What really sucks is tommorrow is july 4th and it will be the first time I am able to visit my daughter in 5 years, so if the variator isnt here today i will have to take it easy on the scoot going to town to see her. oh man, forget about your scooter for one day and go have a great time with your little girl. Oh I will but still gotta ride the scoot to go see her lol. On a side note, Got my performance cdi and ignition coil installed... WHAT A DIFFERENCE! So much more acceleration.

I found a windshield slowed me down. Adding more power allows the option for gears later if you still aren't happy with what you have. I found as I am a bigger guy my windsheild helps with speed as it forces the air over me
