Hello guys and gals, I just discovered this forum because I stumbled onto a free scooter on craigslist, and I am now knee-deep in the world of Chinese Scooters, thanks to some Google-Fu and a great post about decoding VIN (World Manufacturer info Codes) posted on this boards previous incarnation.
It's a three-wheel scooter with a passenger bench seat behind the driver, and it's in some rough shape. The guy gave it away because it's been sitting under a tarp for 6 years. I'm in Florida, so you can imagine what six years in avg. 80% humidity does to metal. Luckily, the motor turns, and even starts. I have experience repairing and restoring cars and some engine repair, but this thing is literally in pieces. I got the title though, so after a lil elbow grease I figure it'll be a nice ride for my kid who needs something to get to Starbucks and back.
I'm glad to have found this forum since I'm more of a car-guy, but any advice (starting with where I should post some questions about this monster) is appreciated.
Thanks!
