Bought this scooter in June (has 242 miles). Mint condition. Old owner let it sit with gas. I took the carb apart, cleaned it and rebuilt it using a kit. Bought and installed a new by-starter. Removed the gas tank, cleaned it out and replaced the gas tank filter and the petcock. I had it running on starting fluid, wont start anymore. I have no idea what else to do. I pulled the plug; it was super dry. The vacuum seems to work, but it is a fast drip; should it be a constant fast flow? It feels like a fuel issue but I've checked it all. Thank you...

Check the valve lash. Check for spark. Check for air leaks (intake manifolds crack when dried out).

pull hose next to carb do you get any fuel doesn't it have a fuel shut off? I wouldn't touch anything till you get fuel. Try releasing fuel cap while pulling off fuel line.

Thanks. When I pull the fuel line off the carb, it does nothing. Fuel only comes out when I try to crank it over, and even then its a fast drip. I do not see a fuel shut off.

Do you get spark? Remove the plug, place the electrode almost touching the engine case and crank it, you should see the spark.

Thanks, yes, I have spark. Funny thing is when I first try to start it cold, it pops, then just tries to crank over; so it is getting spark...

Thanks, yes, I have spark. Funny thing is when I first try to start it cold, it pops, then just tries to crank over; so it is getting spark... So I just messed around with it some more. The plug is bone dry. When I suck on the vacuum tube gas comes pouring out. Guess it's a carb issue? I didn't rebuild it properly? Weird thing is it won't start with a spray of starting fluid in the intake. It does start with a squirt of gas into the spark plug hole but only for a minute. Any advice ?

What are your valves set to?
