Woo-HOO! My Wife's CAT weighs in at 20 pounds even... Trouble is, he won't even ride in a car without a lion-tamer's skills getting him in.... LOL! Leo (MEE-FREAKIN' YOWWW) in Texas

Yet most luggage racks are only rated for 10 lbs.
Much as I like my pets there is no really safe way to transport them on a bike. I at least have a helmet, armored riding pants, armored gloves, riding boots and an armored jacket.
A top case with a hole that can garrote them or worse in an accident does not look like that great an idea from here. Just the heat that would build up in a plastic box out in the Florida Sun could be lethal to them regardless of how many air intakes it has.

Whew, THAT is a bunch of BIG scooters and BIG riders... LOL!
I can attest to the reason for the ridiculous weight limit... My first scoot, a Xingyue 150 had a nice factory trunk with an 11-pound weight limit... The welded-wire rack beneath the plastic trim broke after riding two miles, the first time I put 2 one-gallon bottles of milk in it... A weight of about 13 pounds.
I had it welded, and it broke and got welded over and over again with no more than 15 pounds of groceries on board. Cheesh, was that mount WORTHLESS...
In desperation, I finally ZIP-TIED all the broken pieces together with handcuff-grade ties and it never broke again! Even when carrying over 20 pounds of goodies... The original low-end Chinese racks are truly junk.
My "new" old Kymco 250 rack is made of thick forged-aluminum, but still rated for only 8 kg but I'll guaranty you could hoist the scooter off the ground by it.
I think the super-low weight limits are a hold-over from the earlier Chinese 150 versions. Yet most of the factory trunks even have a passenger backrest pad. EEEWWW... I'd hate to be leaning back on one and have the rack "go away"...
Ride safe,
Leo in Texas

Yes, quite a crew with lots of maxi scooters. I was supposed to lead that ride, but my 250cc chinoscoot died on me. All ended well. After that incident my wife gave me $1000 for a down payment, a maximum monthly payment, and demanded I buy a REAL scooter. I took the money and ran to a Yamaha dealer and bought a real scooter. I had lots of fun choosing between a Majesty 400, a Burgman 400, and a TMAX.
