"Check out this Republic Day video from India where their Border Security Forces showed us how to ride last January:" Why can't our Border patrol ride like that? Maybe because they were usually riding quads when I saw them.

I would likely go with the S40. Its light, simple. bullet proof and affordable. I do like the Enfield "C5 Classic" with the single seat.
OH oh...
Now THIS one gets to me. Even the disk-brake looks "OK" on its vintage look!
All that's missing is a pillion-pad for a passenger. Might never actually RIDE a passenger, but the pillion-seat is a "cosmetic must"... LOL!
There's just something irresistible about 1930's to 1950's bike cosmetics!
Same goes for scooters, too!
Ride safe, ride vintage!

I was trying for one of these 450cc Suzukimatics but can't seem to connect with the seller:

"OH oh...Now THIS one gets to me. Even the disk-brake looks "OK" on its vintage look!" Some of the British Bike fanatics will buy a modern Enfield and replace the front disc with a vintage drum brake. The way people drive around here, I would never give up the disc brake.

From what I have read on modernbuddy.com, release of the Genuine 400 motorcycle has been delayed until summer. Bummer!

For those on a budget, the Kymco K-Pipe can be had for around 2 grand. So far, only engine is a 125cc.

How many years before the US launch? Note that the KTM Adventure 1290 is $17,000 in the US and the 390 Duke which the Adventure is based on is almost $6,000 so the 390 Adventure will probably come in somewhere in-between. It won't be a bargain to say the least.

All cool bikes... I'm not worried about them making it to the states... I'm more worried about them making it to the "People's Republic of California".
Some of the Royal Enfields have made it to Cali, and I can't wait until they hit the used market... Hopefully at a good discount.

Suzuki S40 -- 652cc single cylinder cruiser, just 380 pounds, wet. A Sheep in wolf clothing, about 30 bhp. You don't sell the same motorcycle for 30 years if it is garbage. Mine was a 2000, I rode it for 30K miles/8 years. Others got 60 mpg, I got 50 mpg -- rather frisky. Want to be lazy? Thump Thump Thump Thump, shift, repeat. Yeah, eight revolutions each gear, 16 thumps, and you will be doing over 40 mph and shifting into gear for cruising. Or, when the traffic signal goes green, you can do zero to forty in first gear, before crossing the intersection. There is no replacement for displacement. My mother had an LS650...it sucks. It's a slow, hot, vibrating throwback to 1985 that doesn't have a rear disc brake (has a mechanical drum), a tach, a trip odometer, or even a fuel gauge! As-delivered, the carb (yes, a carburetor in 2016) is set so lean for emission standards that it barely runs. The engine shakes like it has Parkinson's at idle, and about 60, the mirrors vibrate into uselessness. Anyone taller than about 5'4" will be crowded on it (my 5'8" wife could barely ride one). When riding together, my wife and I both had to slow down so the Savage wouldn't be left behind...me on a 400 Burgman, my wife on a tiny Hyosung Comet 250.

According to chinariders.net, then Genuine 400 release has again been delayed until fall. Its starting to remind me of the Elio saga.
