Thats good news. Much better than getting a room with a really bad view.

Hey, thanks thevolget for letting us know the end of this story. Glad it worked out for you. Yeah, $140 is WAY better than $1800!
Did you point out to the judge about the officer's actions? Or else call his department and say something. It does make a diff.
I got targeted out of the traffic, which wasn't why I called. I felt the cop had been very aggressive and threatening They had me write what happened. Then they asked me to come in and view the dash-cam which was almost nothing like my memory. It had been hot, and it affected my memory even though I wrote it an hour or so after. But they did agree to make a change in policy, that bike riders would be informed they could dismount and wait in the shade if available. They told me I could've done that, but I pointed out the officer hadn't said so and I wasn't about to do anything, I was even nervous about taking off my helmet. They understood, said they'd bring it up next morning's meeting, and also with all new hires.
So I would call the station and point out this officer was targeting and also had something not-right going on.

Make sure you have a phone app that will record...and remember the most important thing: "This interaction is being recorded and stored off-site in real time."
