Hi all, long time reader, first time writer. Bought a 50cc taotao last fall and road it well into the winter. Now, I am looking to ramp it up a bit. I am going to purchase a "100cc" bbk, but read in other threads that the vendor I am going to buy it from provides an undersized main jet. I also have purchased a uni flow air filter, performance coil and unrestricted cdi (even though that was probably unnecessary). So, I was hoping to know what size main jet should I buy - , or 105. Thanks a lot.

i would by both and its always wise to buy a couple different sizes cause there isnt no set answer to the question, there is a lot of variables and there like 3-4 bucks each

Thanks, will do.
One last question: I shouldn't mess with the idle jet, right?

Depends on what size idle jet you have . Even though my lil scoot is a 2T I replaced the 40 IJ with a 45IJ with a 70cc BBK and it runs so much better at idle . For main jets a jet kit is the best option so you can have spares for future mods on hand like with this kit enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/4129835/naraku-main-jet-set-gy6-50

Or do you have an idle speed adjustment screw in the carb, if so you can adjust the idle with that.

A number drill set will let yuo try different jet sizes ror free. Some solder to fill the hole when you go too big and drill it again.
Lots of fun.
