I went to try and open the top of my carb to adjust the needle up one cause my scoots running lean... How do i get screw off the top above diaphrame and needle? Just one is stripped... Almost got it lol

Press down really hard from above with a sharp but slightly larger screwdriver, use a rubber mallet to hit the end of the screwdriver down a few times, press down very hard as you unscrew, it should come free, if not try vice grips, if not drill it out and if you mess up get a new carb.

Really stubborn screws come out pretty easily with a socket driver. They allow you to press down and use the ratchet handle as a cheater bar. A bit of penetrating oil and I've never failed to get one out.

Buy a set of reverse drillbits and easy out bits from auto supply store,and then start buying lots of METRIC screws and bolts

Once removed, replace with stainless allen cap screws. I did both top and bottom on my two CVK Keihin 32mm carbs.....that are on my Ural. They took m4 by 12mm (float bowl), and m4 by 8mm (carb top). Next time I have the plastic off of the scoot, I will see if it doesn't take the same size, for I bought 20 of each. (almost certain it does) Picked these up at a place like the one linked: link
Wow I just noticed how old this thread is. Hope this poor guy got it all figured out before now.
