Well guys, the parts came in and the weather was nice enough for me to tackle the starter drive installation. Only issue I had doing the disassembly was with the rear swing arm and the spindle, so I went up to the newly opened Harbor Freight and got a 3 jaw bearing puller, and finally got it separated. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I measured my bolts and marked that measurement on the corresponding hole on the crankcase cover so I wouldn't get any mixed when reassembling the cover. Well as suspected the starter drive was shot, installed the new one, put everything back together fine. When it came time to change out stator, I found out the one shipped to me has a smaller connector than what I have on my scoot, so I'll be returning that one, but anyway finally got everything together and pushed start button and she fired right up. I would just like to say thanks to all the guys that participate and share their experiences here, it has helped me to appreciate my little 150 a little more and I also like being able to take care of those little problems that might arise from time to time. Thanx , You didn't have to remove the swingarm to remove the side cover. What I do is, unbolt the swing arm from the engine but leave it connected to the axle. You next can remove the muffler brackets, but tie the muffler up to the trunk bracket so the muffler and header is supported. I was able to remove the side cover with the header and swingarm still semi attached to the scoot.

You also detach the rear shock from the swingarm . this allows the swingarm to move up and down on the axle .

The only thing to remember : when u reinstall the side cover , the swingarm will be loose and the front of it will be on the ground . if you install the side cover with the swingarm still on the ground , you will not be able to raise it back into place because it will hit the bottom of the dipstick port . you must hold it up while putting the cover in place. I did this a few times and had to take the cover back off . it ssucks having to take all the bolts back out and having to pull the flywheel because you forget this , lol.

The muffler has 6 Allen Head bolts that take forever to remove. Its actually quicker to remove the flywheel and cover .
