Here are some picture of my 2013 Jonway or the (MC-13-250) chinese scooter that I had done off and on this summer (Yep it sure looked funny riding around wires hanging and tied up all over “what the it’s my scooter”) like I said this was done threw out the summer so I done the voltage readings that I could remember (could be wrong on some)also moving the CDI, Blocking Diode, and R/R all to the front of the scooter for better air flow and easy to get to also I added an electric fuel pump and rigging up the vacuum pump for easy hookup if I should need it I also replaced the radiator fan with an higher output one and an R/R (VRRPM3H) from Oregon Motorcycle Parts don’t remember for sure where I was reading about the blocking diode didn’t seem to work like it should I had my meter taped and wire to the frame while I was riding and thinking my reading was up toward 15 volts which I could not take a picture of this (maybe Alleyoop could help on this) Also after cutting the wire that goes to the alarm and whatever else it went to if I disconnect this wire the scooter will start but only a few seconds sounds like it ran out of fuel until reconnected so now I’m thinking about putting in a hidden switch to this s1375.photobucket.com/user/Robertban56/library/

i can give some general pointers. use nylon zip ties to secure your wires, do not use bread ties or other forms of wire. sections of garden hose can be used where scuffing might be a problem. sections of inner bicycle innertube can be used to waterproof your switches. do not twist and tape, used quality crimp on connectors beware of fork movement and other pivoting locations. use rubber stand offs between fans and radiators.
my scoot did not have a blocking diode and i have no idea why it would be needed.
i've found that almost 80% of the problems with my scoot was electrical in nature. after rewiring, it never failed to start.
do you have the 244 or the 257? i believe the MC-54b is the 244, correct?
